A local resident suggested I go to Tavern for dinner. So glad I followed up this suggestion. Waitress was friendly, professional and attentive. Food was great - loved the sticky date pudding. Good atmosphere.

Pretty easy to get a table & find something on the menu that will fill a giant hole in my stomach! Wouldn't consider it to be the most atmospheric "pub" I've ever eaten in, but it's a good option, right in the high street.
We visited Fort William on a Wednesday evening and everywhere was packed. Getting organised and pre-booking is highly recommended, as we were turned away from a number of places due to lack of availability. Thankfully the Tavern had some space and we had lovely meals....More
We went there for lunch on a rainy day and weren't disappointed. We had cullen skink (scottish fish soup) for starter, lamb cutlets for mains. Everything, including beer and wine, was tasty. The service was quick and attentive.

I recently had a meal in the Tavern. It was an almost magical experience! Both the food AND the service were totally top-notch. And they do cocktails! Pretty superb ones, too. The meal I had was: Starter----Pan-fried mushrooms. Main----Steak Pudding---Warm orange cake with a choc....More
We hadn't booked and it was full but the friendly and helpful staff came up with a table in under 10 mins. We both enjoyed our meals (steak & ale pie and veggie fajitas) and the service was very good. We would be happy to...More
We ended up at the tavern after trying a couple of other places that were full. When we went in it was very busy and told there was a 20 minute wait for a table but could wait at the bar. We decided to do...More
Over the years, I have eaten at the Tavern three or four times and was never pleased with my meal. I recently tried again, and was once again disappointed. I had just arrived in town after a very long journey which included a significant time...More
