We stumbled upon this pub when my girlfriend was checking for places to eat in Fort William. It was a bitterly cold night but was lovely and warm in the restaurant which is upstairs from the pub. It appeared to be a relatively quiet night with only 2 tables occupied. We didn't have to wait long for the waitress to... More

A nice pub with a decent selection of local beer and good food - quite busy on a Friday night (a good sign). Looked to be the best pub in Fort William - we went upstairs to the restaurant which was not as noisy as the pub downstairs. Overall a very good rating.

We'd walked in the pouring rain, around the Crainlarich area, so decided to drive up to Fort William, for a few hours. A town centre car park and only a pound or so for a few hours stay, was good value. We walked along the cobbled street, visiting a few of the shops and making enquiries at the various Cafés... More

Basic outfit but good food and service, haggis burger was good and at a keen price. Good location upstairs keeps you away from the main bar which could be a bit noisy. Catered well for kids from what we saw. Recommended.

Visited a few times over the last year. Food always good. Service is ace in the restaurant and the bar seems to have a good stock of real ales

Spent a wet afternoon in this bar where the dog was genuinely made to feel welcome and the beer and pub grub was spot on. A proper pub with wooden tables and a friendly welcoming atmosphere....where you can just chill for a few hours.

Popped in to catch up with my cousin whilst in Fort William. Good selection of Scottish gins at fair prices. Decent choice of malt whisky as well. Decided to fill our bellies with burgers. I had the venison burger which was a bit dry but tasty. My partner had the boar and haggis burger which he enjoyed. Loved the curly... More

An extremely average (at best) dining experience at The Grog and Gruel on Saturday night. No drinks menu, food was being left away from a hot light before servers could pick it up, restaurant was under staffed, beer selection was very poor (3 taps off). The waitresses were polite if a little abrupt. When the food came out my partner's... More
