Called in for takeaway fish & chips lunchtime Thursday 5/4/18. It wasn't until later I realised I'd been given an illegal paper fiver in my change. Left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Sorry if you were given a paper £5 note in your change. These aren't "illegal" and your bank will allow you to bank it, or pop back in and we'll exchange for a non-paper version!

Hi Gillmore, so glad that you enjoyed your burgers, we get all our beef from local suppliers and we are very proud of them. Hopefully catch you on the way back too!

Great value in this place. The food has never wowed me but I've never expected it to. The service is always friendly, the staff are always quite young. Never had a bad meal or experience here.

Hi Iona, thanks for your lovely comments. We serve good, home cooked-food sourced from local suppliers, it maybe doesn't have the wow factor but it tastes really good. Hope to see you again soon.

We've been in Lorimers many times over the years. Most recent visit was great - nicely cooked fish and chips, friendly staff, fast service. I'm finding the chips in other chippys have changed, and not for the better - but in here, you get proper...More
