We stopped by on a whim for dinner and were there 5 minutes before opening and phoned for a table. I’m glad we did as the waitress was having to turn people away as she was fully booked. The service was exceptional from the outset....The waitress was working on her own and run off her feet but it didn’t stop her amazing service! The food was absolutely delicious and served quickly but still lovely and fresh. Great value and we would definitely hurry back if we’re ever in Thurso again!More

Despite the late booking and being squeezed in we had a lovely meal with superb service. Made up for the disappointment of our other booking closing for the evening with no notice.

Thurso was the first stop on a three week tour of north Scotland, and our first dinner couldn't have been better. For a start, we tried to book only shortly before we wanted to eat but were fitted in to the last table. The food...was delicious, and although the menu was limited there were attractive options for both a meat eater and a vegetarian. My scallop starter was wonderful and the complimentary amuse bouche of elderflower sorbet was uniquely heavenly! We left feeling that this would be the best meal of our holiday and it was (although equalled by another two weeks later in Shetland).More

We visited with family and with current restrictions meaning difficult circumstances can only recommend Bydand. Great food, great service and very reasonably priced for high quality menu. All felt very safe, Well worth a visit

Visited for dinner while in the local area. Quite difficult to get a table simply due to its popularity which is always a good sign. As a party of four we ordered a good selection from the menu and all of the dishes served were...a big success - scallops, smoked salmon, grilled salmon, shredded beef and chicken dishes all well cooked, seasoned and presented. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team who are clearly committed to good food and service. Happy to recommend and while social distancing is still a requirement I’d suggest booking early.More

Fantastic from start to finish. Delicious scallops and haggis to start. Beef and chicken was throughly enjoyable, pallet cleanser was an added treat. Owners run a show and left very happy and full! 💫

My husband and I enjoyed the 2 course meal during our stay in Thurso. The food was fantastic, we both had the shredded beef which was very tasty. We would recommend a visit to Bydand.

If you follow for A96 for Inverness then the A9 to Thurso. This would take you to us although this is about a 4.5-5hr journey from Aberdeen. Hope this helps. Best Regards Brian
