So I had olives & bread for an appetizer and I’m still in disbelief , but those were the worst olives I have ever had at a restaurant, I think the worst olives I’ve ever had period. Then I had the prosciutto & mozzarella pizza...( I forgot what’s called ) and that’s the worst p&m pizza I’ve ever had - the crust was so soooo thin and at the same time super soggy, not much cheese. Idk but it wasn’t delicious. The almond cookies were great though I gotta give them that. I’m genuinely surprised of the food quality and specially because of the great rating idk how it’s possible. Service was hmm not great there were only 2 other tables and they still were very very average , except the bartender he was very very good and attentive!!!More

We arrived slightly early, but that was no problem. We were shown to a table by a friendly waiter and the service continued to be fast and kind. We had pizzas which arrived quickly: they were delicious. We both had affogato for dessert which was...gorgeous. We're going back this week!More

Every time we visit Glasgow we have a meal at Amarones. You just can’t go wrong. Great pizzas, a good selection of Italian dishes, a really good wine selection and of course very attentive service. Ewan runs the place and he is a very friendly...face to see every time we visit (16 years and counting!).More

me and my boyfriend always visit here when staying in Glasgow as it is our favourite. The staff are always very kind and helpful and the food is always amazing! The meatballs and pasta was super yummy but my favourite has got to be the...'TAGLIOLINI CON CHORIZO' This is absolutely phenomenal, as well as the mozerella fritta balls which my boyfriend loves. The drinks are also super nice in here. Pricey but worth every penny, will definetly be visiting againMore

We used to come here often for lunch when in Glasgow. However on our last visit things have changed. Prices have gone up, portion sizes have gone down. There is no longer a lunch menu. Worst of all they add a 10% “discretionary service charge”...to the bill for your convenience as if the customer could not decide if the service warrants an extra tip. On the day of our visit there were only three other tables occupied which was strange. There were lots of staff but no one seemed to be bothered with us and the service was poor. There is also a table which seems to be for staff to have lunch and generally socialise around. Not good if your sitting close and you get ignored. Sadly will not be backMore

We enjoyed a lovely balmy Saturday afternoon lunch at a Glasgow outdoors location. The food was delicious and washed down with nice house white wine. Excellent service in a very busy city centre establishment.

If I choose to eat Italian food in a restaurant, I tend to hope the meal I pay for isn't something I could make better myself. For a city centre restaurant in the perfect location, Amarone failed to deliver. Good service to be fair, but...the food was very, very average. The prawn starter was delivered in a bath of butter (I think) and blew the mouth off me. My main of chicken and taglioni was something a 5th year home economics student could rattle together. I don't normally give out poor reviews, but this is the exception. Appreciate the difficult time the industry has had recently, but don't serve a meal that could almost be a microwave special. £30. Two courses and a glass of red. Wasn't worth the effort.More

The reason for choosing this restaurant was their gluten free options. We were greeted promptly and shown to an indoor seat as requested. With regard to the gluten free options there was a reasonable choice. I ordered Gambeoni Diavola (king prawns in white wine ,...garlic, cherry tomato and chilli) served with toasted bread. For my main I had Pollo Funghi ( Roast chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce served with sauté potatoes and veg). Both starter and main meal were delicious. I finished off with the lime Brule which was very nice but I could not detect any lime. My husband, from the GF menu chose minestrone soup served with GF bread and then a fillet steak which was cooked to his liking. It was accompanied with a large mushroom, roasted vine tomatoes and chips. We shared a bottle of red wine and then moved outside to have coffee and a further glass of wine each. The waiting staff were very friendly without being intrusive and will definitely visit again.More

There are some seats where you can wait and have a drink, whilst your table is prepared, but no bar as such.
