Hadn't been here since 1990, and it was great to be back, excellent food in a superb atmosphere. Staff were friendly and non-intrusive.

The staff are wonderful and this is a really quirky place. I went for breakfast and the food was excellent. I had the full breakfast my friend went for eggs.

We have been here four times and are happy to go back. We like that the menu is seasonal . The cafe is very clean , the service is very good and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It has everything we want from a place that serves food and we will be back soon.

We did a very impromptu Christmas night out here for 2, and the Christmas menu was amazing. Had a fantastic night - we already were regulars to the bar here and had eaten a few times but it surpassed our expectations again!

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with choices. The food is excellent and very fresh tasting. They use in season and locally sourced Scottish produce. A must visit if you are in the city centre.

We took a Chinese client to Gandolfi as he wanted to sample Scottish food and culture. Starter was Black Pudding which I was dreading, but it was delicious and the main was Haggis and Neeps............Yummy. We all sampled some Scottish Beer and a single malt whisky to finish it off. The owner Seamus was very hospitable and attentive to our... More

We planned to come here after receiving 2 separate recommendations. Cullen Skink and Haggis were excellent, but what really pleased the family was the range of vegetarian options. Service was good for a busy Friday night, we were given plenty of time and were not rushed through. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes generous. All in all we... More

Had a meal with friends First waitress really friendly and helpful. Second waitress not so nice.... Needed to iron her face to straighten it up a bit. Starters good - as were the mains, but could have had the same again - portions not immense but flavoursome A few glasses of wine and a few laughs made it a good... More

Description
"Deagh bhiadh, deagh bheannachd" Well fed, well blessed. It's this sense of Hebridean hospitality that makes Café Gandolfi such an incredible long standing institution in the Glasgow scene. Opened in 1979, and pioneering the Merchant City into becoming the hub of bars and restaurants that it is today, Gandolfi is a truly well loved and frequented corner of Glasgow. From the main café with its iconic Tim Stead furniture downstairs, the hidden treasure bar up in the attic boasting gorgeous cocktails and atmosphere, to the glamorously sleek Gandolfi Fish two doors up with its adjoining little sibling Fish To Go, this little section of the Merchant City looks set to continue keeping the bar toweringly high when it comes to all things good food, good wine and great hospitality.
