Stopped here on our return journey from Scotland, it is very over priced we paid £13.70 for 2 coffees and an egg mayonnaise and tuna roll, very little mayo in with the egg and only a thin layer of filling on both rolls, coffee could loosely be called coffee as you could only just taste it.

The place was deserted when I arrived mid morning on Wednesday. Lovely smile from the young lady serving and terrific breakfast fare. I would thoroughly recommend this service stop over some of the bigger ones on this route.

When travelling on holiday to Scotland this is my first choice stop for services. I stopped here on the way up to Fife, and on the return journey recently. The staff are friendly, self-service is well-organised (Though watch out for coach parties arriving if you want quick service). The layout of the restaurant is very pleasant, and makes a real... This is a proper rest stop with a restaurant serving hot foods with a Scottish flavour nice little shop with a range of Scottish products the restaurant could do with a facelift but it's nice to visit a service area that isn't fast food and from a chain

This used to be Happendon Services on A74, now owned by Westmorland, who run Tebay services on M6. First, it is still on the (old) A74, not on the M74, so there is a bit of a diversion to find it. Second, it is not a motorway service area, so not open 24 hours Third, the buildings have not been... More

Ordered an overpriced bland chicken curry with a soggy poppadom and that's what I got. My wife needed something gluten and dairy free all that was on offer was a few dried up chips and a portion of dry mushy peas! Not a very nice place to eat, and the gift shop for sweets next door was extortionate! The staff... More

called in for a drink and toilets. 2 toilets full of paper and 1 wouldn't flush. 1 girl doing coffee's put the groung coffee in a metal measure then tamped it down, then ran her hand over it, we watched her do that 3/4 times! How hygienic is that. The tea was awful, place very quiet and no wonder, won't... More

Having experienced Gloucester Services and Tebay last year, I was determined to stop at Cairn Lodge whilst travelling up to Oban as I find most motorway service areas a depressing experience. Gloucester Services were so different and I had expected a similar experience at Cairn Lodge. Big mistake. The Westmorland family is obviously trading on the reputation of Gloucester and... More

Visited Cairn Lodge on my way back from Edinburgh, it was signposted from the motorway but did not say on the motorway sign that it was not open 24 hours. Well it was shut, closed, nothing, not even toilets. And with the other reviews will not be back again. Even went past Tebay as I understand they own Cairn Lodge,... More
