I cannot praise this restaurant enough. Absolutely flawless experience from start to finish. Food was unbelievably good, wine was great and the service was faultless. Reasonably priced too. One of the nicest meals I have ever had in this area!

Can't fault the food in here, I have been quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The only downside for me - sometimes come out smelling like a chip shop - something to do with the ventillation/ extraction? Otherwise very good.

We went here last night for our work's xmas night out. Had the xmas menu which was quite small but everyone was happy with their selection. Veggie options of peppery lentil soup, veg stroganoff and chocolate fudge cake were declious...in fact I'd say the best stroganoff I've ever had. Well done to the staff for our lovely night. Will definately... More

This was our first time visiting 279. The food was excellent, I would highly recommend the fajitas! Sticky toffee pudding to finish with was amazing as were the other desserts at the table - meringue and cheesecake! Very friendly service and you could tell that the other tables that were in the restaurant at the time were regulars. Great wee... More

Arrived to a warm welcome and seated quickly as the bistro was not terribly busy. Noted that the table was wobbly on sitting down which the waiter promised to fix but forgot about despite reminding him. The menu offers a good array of choices to please most tastes. Both of us were underwhelmed by our starters; lentil soup too salty... More

Description
Established in 2008, 279 Cafe Bistro is a family owned and managed bistro in Glasgow's west end just a short walk from Partick train station situated between Partick and Kelvin Hall subway stations. We serve fresh, cooked to order food from our small but very capable kitchen. Our menus have changed slightly over the years to keep things interesting but the quality of food and personal service has always remained the same. Recently our Bistro Menu has taken on a more casual dining style and our old favourites such as sea bass, lamb, pork & steak moving onto our "specials" board. Also we still offer a fixed price menu for early diners. We open at 5pm from Tuesday to Thursday and from noon on Friday and Saturday. These hours are extended during the summer months.
