This is an excellent restaurant and food was superb. Mostly a fish restaurant but this is what I looked for so you be disappointed.

I have been eating here for over 10 years and have never once been disappointed. We usually come for the pre-theatre meals before a play or concert. Our most recent meal was excellent as always. Both started with the cullin skink soup, a menu regular....More

On my last evening in Glasgow, alone, I showed up here without a reservation and snagged the last open table. The room is small with a tiny bar up front, warm, with a pleasant ambience, and not too noisy. Service was attentive and friendly. The...More

We enjoyed one of the best meals ever in this excellent restaurant. The scallops were exceptional and the sea bass delicious. The house red was so good I took a photo of the label! Very pleasant, unobtrusive staff. We will definately be back

Is there any nice bars/cocktail bars near this restaurant that are good to go before hand or does the restaurant have a bar area?

There are lots of good bars within a few minutes, most are the trendy type and serve good cocktails. The Griffin Bar is a little bit different, looks like an old pub but has a great range of Scottish Gins; worth a try!

As I recall there are no steps up into the restaurant and I think the restroom is on the same floor, but you should check with the restaurant to be sure. Hope it works out for you - it's a great place with wondeful food.
