The White Cart was able to accommodate us last minute and still with decent social distancing. The staff all had protective masks and the tables had reassuring labels to say that they had been sanitised. The entrance and exits were separate to ensure a comfortable traffic flow for customers.
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was good value for money, particularly the large portion of fish and chips (picture attached).
Above all else the environment was warm, cosy and welcoming during a hard time and a rainy day. My partner always wants to go back.
What we ordered:
-Chicken sharer starter
-Fish and chips
-Draft pints of Diet Coke
The chicken sharer was nice enough, and the £1 to upgrade to a large fish and chips basically doubles the amount you get. The draft diet cokes had the perfect amount of ice to cola ratio 😀

Had heard good things and despite The White Cart being part of a chain, we made it our Saturday night destination.
Friendly bar staff took the drinks order as we looked over the meat focused menu. The place looks popular with the locals and I understand why. With a cosy bar many were in for a drink or even a few, and the restaurant was bustling with couples and families. The helpful waiting staff seemed confident enough to guide us through the menu,
The place has a nice outdoor seating area.
We has a lightish starter and a couple of stakes that were cooked exactly to our liking, washed down with a moderately priced bottle of decent red. Looking forward to our next visit which could be their Sunday Roast special.

Food simple and comforting. A nice warm atmosphere on the winter night of our visit. (Saturday 13th November)
The atmosphere bustling and noisy but not too noisy. Prices reasonable and good value for money
Our waitress Lynsey, a local girl, was very attentive and made us feel very welcome.

Despite having booked a table for 2, was given a table for 6 in a corner, felt a bit odd.
18 minutes after being seated we were finally approached by server to ask if we wanted a drink.
Starter of Camembert was lovely, the breaded mushroom starter was obviously a bulk buy of frozen pre breaded mushrooms, over cooked and over sized. The
main course of macaroni was undercooked and overly salty.
Fillet steak main course was cooked as requested, but came with more of the awful mushroom starter, pepper sauce, which we had to pay extra for, was a very small portion.
Overall very disappointing and not to be recommended.
On the positive side the staff are very friendly and did not charge for the macaroni main meal

Called in here for a quick lunch. We were told there was no space in the restaurant but we were welcome to eat in the bar. No problem, just a quick bite to eat anyway ( although the car park wasn’t busy). Ordered food and drinks at the bar from the very friendly and helpful barmaid (5 starts to her!). Ordered starters and mains, nothing too taxing or “off menu”! 25 minutes later, the starters arrived and were ok. Nothing to get excited about, especially the carmelised vegetable soup which had a strong taste of cinnamon (!), but they were nice. We then sat for around 35 minutes waiting for our main courses and had got to the point where we were about to pay for what we had and leave, after buying a second drink, as we’d finished the first. Mains then arrived. And were underwhelming , to say the least. Steak pie came with chips and peas. Ok but it would have been nice to have some other veg. Chicken burger was tasty but came with only chips and not even a salad garnish, so the plate looked rather empty!!! Finished our meal, paid the bill and left. Barman (owner?) didn’t even ask how our meal was. Such a shame as they have done a really good job of refurbishing this place and have a nice area outside which, I’m sure , would be great in summer. However, they need to improve on their service. It is “pub food” however you dress it and, as such, should be served in a reasonable time.

Live locally and decided to try this place since the change of ownership. Shouldn't have bothered. If anything, things have got worse since the last time.
Poor service - kept standing for 5 mins at the entrance with my 86 year old mother before being shown to a table.
After being seated and given menus a further 20mins passed before we eventually managed to attract someone's attention to take our order.
4 rounds of drinks ordered. Each one with an error or had to be requested twice before it arrived.
Food:
Vegetables bland. Broccoli soft, watery and inedible.
Price: would happily have paid the requested price if the service and food were nice. But a total rip-off for what was served up.
Tea: served up in a pot with water so cool the tea bag hadn't even released any tea 5 mins after the pot arrived.
Soft drinks containing as much ice as was humanly possible to fit in a glass.
Saving grace (if any). Staff polite.
Best bit: getting the bill and leaving.

Had an excellent meal at the White Cart on Friday night. Our waitress Lynsey was very cheery, friendly and chatty which is great to see and was able to recommend a dessert i may like and it was delicious. The food and service was excellent. All staff and management are very friendly and make you feel very welcome into the establishment and continually check everything is okay. Look forward to going back.

Visited the White Cart for dinner last night as I’d been given a voucher as a gift. Haven’t eaten there in some time due to the food being quite hit or miss. Unfortunately it was more of the same last night. I ordered dipping steak, which was okay. Chips were undercooked and the onion rings were soggy and about the size of a 50 pence piece. My partner had Chicken Tikka Masala which tasted similar to a ready meal, although she did enjoy the onion bhajis. The pub itself is lovely & the staff are fantastic (one member of staff resolved an issue with a payment for me from a previous visit and handled the situation well) but the food is inconsistent and we’ve been disappointed a few times. It’s also about £5.30 for a pint of Punk IPA. For comparison, it’s £3.95 in my local, and it’s concerning that on a lovely summers evening during the school holidays, the White Cart was extremely quiet. A lot of competition for good beer in the area with the Cartvale, Maxwells & Monteiths all providing a nice selection of craft beer and a pleasant atmosphere, so I don’t think we’ll be back to the White Cart for a while, which is a shame because it has so much potential.

We have been to the White Cart every month for the last three months and can't fault it.
The food is good value for money and the clientelle is very friendly.
On each month we went we were impressed with the choice of meals we had, which was the Haddock, steak fajitas and the steak burger, one was as good as the other.
The staff was another factor that made our night at the White Cart really enjoyable, Lynsay in particular was very friendly, profesionable and quite witty, which was very refreshing.

My family took me out to the restaurant as a treat for Father's day this year and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the great food and even more so by the quality of service that we received from our server Zoe. This was our first proper trip out to a restaurant once restrictions had relaxed a bit and although there was still some anxiety about being out, we were treated exceptionally well and wanted for nothing in the time we spent there. We have a 3 year old little monster who can make things difficult if there are long waits for food/drinks, but there was none of this and that made for a very enjoyable lunch. The food was great (we all had roasts) and I was delighted to tear into a couple of fresh pints of Punk IPA which was great to find in a local establishment like this. This could easily have been another mediocre Sunday lunch at a local pub, but the attention to detail, especially in times of Covid, and Zoe going the extra mile where possible really made my day. The manager, Max, even made the effort to check on our table after the meal which was a lovely touch. A big well done to him and his team! We will be back soon!

Just back from a really enjoyable lunch. The food was great and the COVID procedures put in place to make us feel safe whilst there were really reassuring. The star of the whole experience though was the service. First class and very friendly. Thanks to Kerry & Lyndsey for their service.

My sister Betsy and I have visited this venue many times and our recent visits since lockdown have been really good, we had service from 3 waiters/waitresses - Ruth, Kerry and Robyn, each was very friendly and helpful with regard to advising on the dishes and service of both the food and drinks. The food on the whole was good and presented well. The serving staff could not do enough to make us welcome. We will be back again and again.

This was the first time that we had managed to get back to Busby (from Southampton and Bute respectively) and it was great to be able to have dinner at the White Cart once more.
Kerry and Terry looked after us incredibly well and guided us through the various changes needed due to the current health crisis as if it was just another day running a restaurant.
The food was delicious and we were well attended to throughout the evening.
It may be a while before we can get here again but I have no hesitation in recommending the White Cart to anybody seeking great food, excellent service, and lovely surroundings.

I booked the table for 4pm but had a car brake down on the way, I phoned the restraunt and spoke with Simon who was only to happy to assist and changed our booking time and told us not to worry, that he would accommodate and to come when we could.
We arrived at 5.10pm, cold and hungry and we're shown to a nice quiet table near the disabled facilities for convince which was fantastic as my patient was in a wheelchair and we had been awaiting RAC for over an hour.
Place was immaculate, covid restrictions in place.
Meal was fast and superb. Simon and all the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We will be back very soon.

Arrived here with friends without a prior table booking. Beautiful sunny day and it looked busy outside at least. By the time that we had done the Track & Trace book in a table had been cleared outside, perfect...
The staff all had masks including the manager and the hand sanitiser was nearby. We were shown to the table and given menus. The waitress took our drinks order of 2 diet cokes and 1 soda water and lime.
We ordered 1 all American chicken burger complete with fries, onion rings, side salad and salsa. 1 Vegetable salad bowl with Halloumi and new potatoes and 1 luxury mac n'cheese with garlic bread and side salad. All made fresh with great flavour and perfect presentation. For dessert we had 2x 3 scoops of different ice creams and 1 bramley apple pie with cream.
We did wait a little while for our order but no quibble as it was busy, so all in all it was great food in great surroundings with great weather.
