Pretty location by the water in Leith. Few tables outside as well. Really friendly staff. A decent prix fixe menu that costs £15 for lunch. We had the fritters off the main menu. The halibut carpaccio is delicious! The batter fried fish with lentils were...More

My wife and I have been twice for lunch in the past 6 months and enjoyed it both times. The lunch menu is excellent value and the latest occasion included for dessert one of the best sticky toffee puddings I've had. With good, friendly service,...More

We dropped in for lunch without a booking and were lucky enough to get a table in this small restaurant. We just had a main course as we were going out later, but the starters looked appealing and there was a good choice. We settled...More

Went for my daughter's 21st birthday. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Couldn't ask for a better day.

My husband's fish was overcooked, and my curried dish flavouring was harsh and unpleasant. As my husband left half his plate of food he was asked if it was okay. When he explained they refunded the price of his fish. My dish was not discussed....More

We had a late booking (2100) on a Friday night as I only reserved with about a week to go. However, when we arrived the restaurant was full and had a nice buzz about it. There is a good choice of food on the menu...More

We brought our friends here last week as I have eaten here many times before and always been very pleased with the food. 4 of us ordered the monkfish and it was rubbery and tough served over a (tiny) portion of quinoa. The food was...More

Went for a romantic meal here for a birthday dinner. Staff were friendly, service was fast, and the food was excellent. The Monkfish and the Isle of Gigha Halibut were both beautifully presented and both incredibly delicious! Would highly recommend.

Visited early evening. The restaurant is small and informal- the prices are not. The scallop starter was very promising, the skewered balls were rubbery but were accompanied by a tasty salad. For main course we had sea bass and lemon sole - the fish was...More

Managed to squeeze a booking here on a 6 nations sports weekend and took a short taxi ride from Edinburgh centre to Leith waterside to try this restaurant, recommended by our friendly hotel receptionists. The ambience was great, a cozy but modern interior, very professional...More

Thinking of travelling up from Newcastle for our anniversary dinner - would you recommend this restaurant or Fishers in the City as somewhere special? How far out of city centre is Fishers? Can anyone advise please?

I used to love Fishers pre-children as a treat. Now I have a 5 & 7 year old I'm wondering if children are welcome? It's been a while but from what I can recall, there weren't ever any kids in the restaurant when I used to visit. Cheers, Nicola
