On a recent visit to Edinburgh visited the Canny Mans for a drink with such a old building and a great sense of History inside you undoubtedly feel you are stepping back in time

We went for a meal on a Friday evening, booking beforehand. This place is very quirky, old and full of character. Lots of old pub mirrors, stuffed animal heads and bric a brac around the rooms and all over the walls, but it works for...More

This was just like walking into the pub in Werewolf live in London ! I have never felt so shunned in a pub both the Landlord & Landlady were so up themselves it was untrue, ignoring the new customers whilst sycophantically smooching up to the...More

If you want to see, what does your great-grand-grand-and-so-on-aunt Mildred and her beautiful daughter Dorothea 100+ years afterwards, and you want to hear small birds singing in their birdcage, simply do go to the Canny Man's and ask for a shot. And second helping. If...More

Visiting Edinburgh, Canny Man's provided the best venue to take Granny for lunch. A spacious table, excellent food, and prompt service allowed us time to talk. Parking available for the driver, and convenient for those walking from King's Buildings. Catered well for Granny's vegan granddaughter.

This is in fact one of the most illustrious drinking houses to be found anywhere; I can confidently declare that after traveling in over 75 countries. I visited five times over the course of two months, and conclude that the Kerr family are truly superb...More

Stepping into the Canny Man's is like stepping my back in time in the best possible way. It truly is a classic dining experience that sadly is dying out. Classic, quirky, traditional and unique. I've never set foot inside when it's not been incredibly busy...More

I visited The Canny Mans for the first time today and it was like a museum/pub and I loved it. I loved all the antiques and paintings and all the little touches, the flowers on the table, the cherry in the coke, the cubby hole,...More

The place is amazing, really beautiful, one of a kind. The lady that works on the restaurant side is always really well mannered, nice and takes time to talk with you when taking the order. Bartenders on the floor wasn't that nice at all, he...More

Well well worth our short taxi ride from the centre of Edinburgh, to visit this on the recommendation of friends. A very quirkily, handsomely, and entertainingly decorated pub, with a great atmosphere and the staff an owners clearly taking great pride in what they do....More

This is a very good pub which serves very good food. Families do go to it, but it's not the first place in Edinburgh I would think of for a child-friendly experience!
