Visited the clam shell today on my break from work and honestly couldn't have been more disappointed. I had been looking forward to it all day and I'd have been better off just getting something out the bin and eating that instead. For a start,...More

The haggis supper is absolutely one of the best I have had I always come here everything I visit Edinburgh. I would recommend the Clamshell fish bar if you fancy haggis or fish supper 5* I will be back when I come to Edinburgh again.

We'd been walking for hours, including up to Arthur's Seat and back so we were really hungry and wanted to try the deep fried haggis. There are several restaurants that sell it but there's nothing quite as good as a chippy. The clamshell is a...More

Stopped in here with the significant other twice while visiting Edinburgh! The place only has 4 seats along the wall at a high table. Most people get their food and take it home with them. The restaurant itself seemed to be dirty most of the...More

Our 2nd fried fish craving. Bene's was closed so we settled for this, without the chips. The fish was fresh and batter was nice. Nothing to fault. simple quick fix for our craving.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
