This restaurant is a true jewel in the city. Delicious food with the freshest ingredients. Staff readily and cheerfully accommodated special dietary requirements. Explaining what they could offer and adjusting options to an individual's preferences. Excellent wines too.

We chose this restaurant to help celebrate my wife's birthday. We had stumbled across this little gem a few days earlier and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a waitress who noted that we had been there a few days ago and pointed towards...More

Excellent food and outstanding staff. I ordered a beet salad as appetizer followed by daily special. The taste of each item in my salad was delightful as well as in the main course.

Dinner at grain store was wonderful. The restaurant is lovely, full of character. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good selection of beers and wines to accompany the meal. Would recommend especially for a romantic meal.

Loved the classy sophisticated lunch menu. Beautiful quiet little space 1 flight above busy Victoria Street. Friendly service. So much better then some of the messy crowded street cafes.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
