I was visiting from London and had heard about the beautiful food that First Coast delivers. The steak was probably the best I have ever had... and I have had a lot of steak!! Definitely one to check out!

We live a 10 minute walk from this fab establishment, and often when we fancy an evening of good food, we chose to visit First Coast. Sometimes I find restaurants in the centre of Edinburgh a bit lacking, but not here! The food is fantastic...More

An excellent restaurant for an evening meal. The choice is first class, reasonable with staff very attentive. Well laid out with space between each table making it easy to get in and out.

The restaurant is very well set out and I was looking forward to my first encounter. I was sat close to the bar and.had a lovely waitress. The mackerel, when it came, was over cooked and lacked flavour which was odd. The main was a...More

I love this place. Been many times. Good blend of favourites and a few daily specials. Big on quality and flavour, reasonable on price. Doesn't pretend to be something it's not, yet I'm always delighted by the food. Never disappoints.

I am not familiar with this part of Edinburgh and looked on Trip Advisor, it appeared to be well liked. We did book and I think this would be essential. Sara and the staff were so friendly and such a nice atmosphere, the food was...More

Description
Opening Hours:- MONDAY - Saturday. Lunch 12pm-2pm Dinner 5pm-10.30pm West Edinburgh wasn't a dining hotspot, but charming, inviting, delicious First Coast is one of the establishments that have been changing that. A comfy toddle from Haymarket station, First Coast is quite an intimate, relaxed shop front restaurant done out the blues and greys of the sea, with rough hewn centre wall and super smart detailing. The frequently-changing modern Scottish menu lists meat and fowl as well as fish. Starters include very tender marinated squid, soy and sesame salad, mains include spicy grilled chicken breast with homemade sweet chilli sauce and coconut rice, and sweets include deep fried jam sandwich with vanilla ice cream- seriously. Short, thoughtful wine list, good vegetarian choices and warm service.
