Welcome to Edinburgh's Premier Indian Restaurant. We are situated approximately one mile from the heart of the city. Our chefs have up to thirty years of experience in cooking traditional homemade dishes. Ronaq Indian Restaurant is a fully licensed restaurant.

Staying at the Village Hotel so this place was within walking distance and we fancied a curry. Booked a table the night before, just as well as the place was busy. Our seats were near the door and due to the way the door was hung a draught came our way every time the door opened !! The prices compared to Aberdeen are on the high side, especially the wine, but the draft beer was reasonable? I ordered a biryani (medium) but this tasted hot to me, and the rice was a bit stodgy!! My wife’s curry a jalfraizi was fine for her palate but both meals were not piping hot. The chicken and lamb in the curries were very well cooked so no complaints there. The staff were efficient and friendly.

I booked a table to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary and as the title states everything was superb. The staff were amazing, friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had chicken tikka and mushroom pakora for starters which were fresh, hot and tasty. For the main course my husband chose Lamb Madras and I had King Prawn Bhunna, both were exceptionally tasty. We really enjoyed our evening and it was well worth the 60 mile round trip.

Was recommended to visit here and enjoyed it. Staff were friendly but a bit forgetful ( didn’t tell us we had to view the menu on line). Also had trouble writing down the order so in the end the waiter sat down next to us whilst he finished writing on his pad - maybe he was tired!
The food was very tasty and reasonable portion sizes. Would go back here.

Ladt night my wife and I decided to order takeaway from Ronaq attempted by the Facebook promotion offering 20% off.
We called and after the order we realised that the price is much higher than expected. It turns out that they have updated the price but failed to change the menu in their website.
Although we told them twice that it's not our fault and we should have been charged the original price, the guy admitted the restaurant was wrong but he still wanted to charge us full price. I work in hospitality and I take my responsibility when I know my company is wrong, he didn't care at all.
To end up, the chicken tikka masala had a strange yellow colour and it was very sweet, while the lamb sag had a good quality but very salty.
Guess who's never going to come to your restaurant again?

We are well-known for our food and sit-in service because our team is dedicated to making sure that every experience at The Ronaq is a memorable one. However, takeaway & delivery service is new to us under the Covid19. Maybe you don't check our website before order takeaway, we are offering 20% off on those takeaways which are directly placed to the restaurant, not from deliveroo.
We would like to assure you that we value our customers and your feedback. To avoid it happening again we will mention offer condition on our website homepage and all our social media too.

Hubby and I used to be big fans of Ronaq. So much so that we took out of town family and friends there, including for a 50th birthday. I even organised a Christmas lunch just pre-COVID for a large group of female friends.
Recently however, we just don’t recognise the place. Our last two visits, one take away, one sit in, have been awful. Hugely over-spiced food; including yogurt/mint sauce that burned your mouth off, soggy mushroom pakora & rock hard veggie pakora in the same order, and tikka/tandoori dishes even my husband found hard to swallow.
Being a bit of a korma girl, I couldn’t eat it at all. The only thing that was tolerable was the popadom. It was all SO hot.
It’s such a pity, because their COVID compliance is really good (well apart from the one non-Indian behind the bar, who had no mask, yet is the one with the card machine) and as frontline healthcare workers, this is hugely important to us to protect our elderly patients.
Sadly we won’t be back. When you pay restaurant prices for take away, you expect a higher standard than you’d get from a local take away, not lower. And I’m afraid that what we got was just not close to acceptable :(

Came here on boxing day no crackers on table - popadoms for a group ok bu the pickle was tray tiny - meant the lime pickle did not go round everyone. Staff friendly meals were ok nothing different for boxing day no chocolates with coffee. Average indian,

We have visited the Ronaq now for atleast 3-4 years, once a month. Having eaten in a number of Indian restuarant in Edinburgh, I can honestly say the Ronaq at Comely Bank, Edinburgh is the best I have been too for both service and quality food. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering visiting. We have never been let down.

Beautiful food. We booked online, the response was quick. The welcome was friendly and covid secure. My wife commented that this was the best chicken tikka masala she had ever had, we overheard the table next to us making a similar comment! We had the sharing platter starter for 2, to die for.

I visited Ronaq for lunch , it was a set menu . Vegetarian option too , came in a lovely silver kind of platter dish & round the dish was various kinds of meat dishes & rice,also got poppodoms,chapatti & nan bread ,along with a separate dish with several kinds of dips .To say the least it was so tasty & pricing was really good too. The assistant was very helpful & service with a smile .Will visit again .👍

Visited last night for a meal to celebrate our Silver Wedding. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The food was oustanding, fresh and quality ingredients evident throughout our meals.
For starters I chose the Butterfly King Prawns and my husband had chicken tikka, both dishes were full of flavour and the King Prawns are the biggest prawns I have ever eaten and cooked to perfection. My husband said his chicken tikka was delicious.
Onto the main course, I had the King Prawn Bhuna and once again the prawns were large juicy and full of flavour. My husband had the Lamb Madras and raved about how tender the lamb was and full of flavour and spices. The cheese naan bread was first class. Empty plates all round.
Thank you Ronaq for making out special day a meal and experience to remember.

I cannot fault the service as this was good. But the food not so. Main complaint is that it was full of oil. We had ordered 2 vegetable side dishes, 1 garlic nan, lemon rice and chicken dopaiza. The garlic nan was not fully cooked and the curries swimming in a lot of oil.

We love Benny and Dougie. We came here with expectations that were not too high but high enough given the 4.3 ratings. But wow. Really nicely decorated place. Clean! Spacious. Very helpful friendly staff.
Oh and the food.....
Delicious. Even the pickle tray has a unique sauce made with fruits.
Mrs had king prawn kurma. Delicious. 5 v large prawns in a tasty sauce. I had kabuli gosht. Lamb with lentils. Amazing.
Ok. Just come here. It's fab

I have always enjoyed visits to this restaurant but the new business lunch 'thali' menu disappointed. Instead of a choice from a menu, there is a choice of different 'thali' ( small bowls of food) e.g. vegetable, meat or mixed, accompanied by a starter, boiled rice and a chapati. Unfortunately I didn't find the thali at all tasty. Please bring back the old menu!

Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough! It is nicely decorated with an extensive drinks and food menu. We had a few entrees and sides and each dish was unique and delicious. The service was outstanding as well. A great neighborhood spot!

We had a delicious meal. We are from the area and had lots of recommendations and it definitely lived up to our expectations. We had an amazing server, named Benny who paid great attention to detail and was ever so friendly. We will definitely be back.
