Went for breakfast while playing tourist in Edinburgh. Service was top notch, seated straight away and servers were quick and friendly. We both ordered omlettes, husbands was lovely, however mine was really greasy. If they were both like mine I'd have been miffed but putting...More

Our party of five included a pizza lover. We did not know if we needed to order the child's pizza or a small regular pizza, since we only had one pizza eater. The waitress explained that the child's pizza was as big as an small...More

Convenient to the Royal Mile, good service. Good for two families. Had traditional English breakfast available, and also American standards. American themed - fun way to see how others perceive the country.

We ate here as a group of three, two who were vegetarian. The food choice was varied and good, it arrived quickly and service fine (food was quick, drinks took a little longer). There wasn't too much halloumi in the veggie burger but is was...More

We visited last year and the service was very slow. We went back again this year and it was slightly improved. They still didn't take a drink order so we could enjoy these while looking at the menu, but did come to take an order...More

I visited here with my wife in March 2017 and we had a really nice meal. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the food was really nice (I had one of the burgers). The service was great too (we were served by Lizzie). Would...More

We were searching for a quick bite to eat, somewhere teenagers would like. This place was great. Great hamburgers and fries.

We had done our research of restaurants before coming to Edinburgh but saw the Filling Station and decided to eat there instead of one of our picks as it was just over the road from the Radisson Blu where we were staying. Having since read...More

I'm from NJ, and while I certainly did hate myself for coming into an "American themed restaurant" while traveling abroad, it was raining super hard and everywhere else was full. I felt ok about it when I saw the place - it looks nice... but...More

I don't generally write bad reviews, but this restaurant deserved it. We went to the Filling Station in Edinburgh because it was the only restaurant nearby that was able to take us without a reservation. That should have been our first clue. It is set...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Filling Station coast to coast American restaurant and bar, has been created by a team of people who genuinely love good quality food, drinks and good times! No doubt you're thinking, well doesn't everybody want that? It's true many people do, but we have genuinely struggled to find somewhere that actually delivers all of these things. So our solution was simple - let's do it ourselves, the result is Filling Station. When it's cooked well using fabulous ingredients, nothing beats authentic American food. Very few can resist a cocktail mixed by a real bartender who knows exactly how to blend flavours to achieve a perfect balance of strong, weak, sharp and sweet
