Up in Edinburgh for a couple of nights with the family and were recommended by a friend to visit this restaurant. Whilst we have visited Edinburgh many times and have tried a multitude of cuisines and restaurants, we have not as yet been made more welcome or served better food than in here. The waitress was lovely as were the... More

What a fantastic start to a great day. A mixture of 14 Irish and scottish guys and gals descended for a brunch. Great time. Great service. Very friendly owners and staff. Nothing too much bother and excellent value for money.

Restaurant has recently been refurbished and we went to see if there had been any changes. Refurbishment has given the restaurant a rustic type dining area and looks good. No change to service, food and atmosphere which are still great. Waitress apologised for keeping us waiting before taking order but we never thought there was a delay as we sipped... More

Dined here solo when in town on business and loved it. It's a narrow but long restaurant done out in a pretty authentic rustic Italian style. Nothing fancy but feels really genuine. I got a warm welcome from the staff and had an amazing wild boar ravioli. Like the decor the food is rustic and authentic, not modern and trendy.... More

We were warmly welcomed and our waitress Livia was super. The food uses good ingredients and is genuine Italian, the wild boar ravioli to die for and the lasagne great. Cleverly chosen range of food and wine, lovely new decor. We shall return.

This was by far the best Italian I have ever had!! I had the spaghetti Johnny and it was superb! The new refurbishment looks brilliant with the restaurant having little booths for you to sit in and the coffee was brilliant to end. They servers were super from start to finish. All in all a fab evening! Will definitely be... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
