Stopped in here after the rugby starving, prompt service, good portions very odd garlic bread and hilarious refusal by the waiter to take our picture. A helpful customer obliged. Would go back just to laugh at the waiters !

Dropped after the rugby tonight and had a wonderful meal. Pizzas were lovely and my husband has the pasta with mussels prawns and scallops - best he has ever tasted apparently! In summary food great and priced reasonably. Will definitely go again.

We dropped in at 9:45 pm after a few beers in the Haymarket area of the city - just as the restaurant was closing. Although this was pointed out to us, we knew what we wanted to order so knew we'd be quick. As ir happened, my wife and I had a perfect pizza each. Stone baked with plenty of... More

Excellent food and service. Couldn't ask for more. Staff were very friendly and food was exactly as described, I asked for a variation on one of the dishes and this was no problem and exactly like I asked it to be. Would recommend.

Meal was poor. Minestrone was full of veg but not as good as i have had here in previous visits. Was persuaded to have sirloin steak cooked in sauce having asked for fillet steak with sauce on the side. It really was dreadful. We were about to order a side salad and chips but were told that it came with... More

Arrived at 7:30 (15 minutes early than booked) 15 minutes came and we hadn't been offered a drink there was only about 4 or 5 other people in the restaurant so it's not like they were too busy. 8pm came and finally all the party arrived and we had a drink order taken about 8:15. Food probably came about 30... More

I walked up and down this particular street a couple of times looking at menus and places, as there at start of lunch trade and had worst meal experience yet to have in city. I have ate in and reviewed other Italian restaurants in the city and feel only being a fair reviewer to put the bad ones on with... More

Staff were extremely friendly and the food was the best pizza and pasta I've had since Italy. Great atmosphere and good value for money.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
