My boyfriend and I went here for dinner as we where staying in a hotel close by, we are Italians so we recognised the Italian staff and thought the food would have been authentic Italian food, how wrong we where 😩we ordered two pizzas and they where rubbish, they literally tasted and looked like the frozen ones, we where very... I too am very disappointed to read that as supposed Italians, you are unable to recognise the difference between a frozen pizza and a fresh one. I can assure you that our dough and pizzas are made freshly and daily on the premises. Furthermore, I am insulted that you think that we would serve desserts that were over a year... More

So glad to have found my way here despite it only being 750m from my flat. The food really was lovely. The only negative I have to mention is that immediately clearing away our starter plates our main dish arrived. Just a wee 5 minutes between would have been better. But we went there to eat and I have only... More

Went here on our first night in Edinburgh. Food was lovely and at a reasonable price (paid £9 for a pasta). The waiter (who was Italian) was a bit overrun, by the amount of people - he was the only one there and the restaurant was full. Great little place if you just want something easy and yummy.

Got there just after 5. We had a couple of little kids with us.The food wasn't great but the service was on par with something that Basil Fawlty would be proud of. The two year old was berated for momentarily sitting on a chair at the table next to ours (the place was otherwise empty). The old waiter brings out... More

We ate here on Sunday evening - just pizza and pasta but it arrived hot, was very tasty and very filling. Pasta had lots of garlic in it - just as I like it. Attentive staff and very reasonably priced.

8 of us went here last night (3/12/16) - service was terrible, waiter didn't listen food edible, but one person ordered well done steak, it was medium rare. another person had their pizza removed from under them, with waiter saying it was wrong one, when it wasn't. 10% service charge for parties over 6 people, which they calculated wrongly, but... Two of us had a great business meal. Our waiter was really friendly and we had some good chats. The food was very tasty which is the most important thing. All for a good price. I'd happily come back here.

Stopped in here after the rugby starving, prompt service, good portions very odd garlic bread and hilarious refusal by the waiter to take our picture. A helpful customer obliged. Would go back just to laugh at the waiters !

Dropped after the rugby tonight and had a wonderful meal. Pizzas were lovely and my husband has the pasta with mussels prawns and scallops - best he has ever tasted apparently! In summary food great and priced reasonably. Will definitely go again.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
