Found this place via 5pm.com and got great pre theatre deal. Located a few minutes away from Playhouse and Omni centre it's easy to get too. Nice menu and friendly staff and would definitely recommend. The gnocchi was superb.

Really enjoyed the meal with our group of 4 and we all found something which we fancied. You can tell when food is freshly prepared and cooked well and this certainly was. Would recommend

Pleasant enough but not very good value. Our bill was over £95 for four people and we only had main courses, 2 coffees and 3 glasses of coke. The steaks were a bit small for the price and I'm 100% sure that the chips came from the fish & chip shop next door. The 3 cokes cost £17.40! We were... More

What a great find!! Scrolling through trip advisor we were looking for a nice Italian and stumbled upon this place. The service, food and wine were all superb. The staff couldn't do enough for you and I would recommend anybody looking for a hearty Italian to pop in and try it. We booked up during a busy period on a... More

After wandering up the road, with the intentions of eating at another restaurant, we stumbled upon the menu outside. Having previously ruled out Italian cuisine for dinner, we were all unexpectedly really excited by this menu. It wasn't pizza and bruschetta like we would typically order. It was all authentic Italian flavours and ingredients, without being pretentious. We started with... More

Good food and selection of wine, excellent service by Italian camerieri. Looks small from the outside but is much bigger once inside, will be calling again.

This is a brilliant wee place. The food was amazing and the service was superb. Three courses for £15.95 was a real bargain in the centre of Edinburgh which can be really expense. You also weren't rushed to finish and get out the restaurant. It was a lovely relaxed experience with fantastic food. I will return soon.

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighbourhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
