Met a friend for lunch and we had really excellent service and were well looked after by a really nice friendly waiter. We both had jacket potatoes and desert very fairly priced. I have been coming here for about 20 years and during that time...it has changed hands several times. I would say this has been the best it’s been for a while. Hand sanitiser on arrival, nice welcome, excellent service and well priced lunch. Keep it up guys! We will be back.More

Food was great as always, staff helpful and a freezing cold pint beside an open fire hits the spot everytime.

Had been here a few times in the past, pre-lockdown, my recent visit has prompted me to write a review. Was happy to see a lot of sanitizing stations dotted around the place, there was even one as we walked in, and a supply of...masks for customers who didn't have one. lovely meal and great service. the two staff that we dealt with were great, I think they were called Izzi and Nina if I remember right, very friendly and a good sense of humour. We'll be back soon as we really enjoyed ourselves.More

Went in after my afternoon hike around the lovely surrounding hills of colinton and was greeted and explained to about all the new covid measures. We aware in a group of 5 and had to be split us which is fine and we were grateful...as it was starting to rain. I have been elsewhere recently and they tell us we cant come in if we are more than 5 even tho we can sit separately ??? so overall great welcome great service and will be in again in the futureMore

Staff were really friendly even if it took a few minutes to be acknowledged when we came in. Starters were nice, but the main courses were poor. My wife had the chicken and leak pie, she couldn’t open it with her knife and had to...use my steak knife just to open the pie, only ate the contents of the pie not the pastry, My steak had no flavour to it at all, bland and tasteless, won’t be back anytime soon.More

Great to see the pub now reopened due to COVID-19. Been about 3 times since the reopening not to eat but just for a couple lunchtime beers as I am a regular. Social distancing well adhered to regarding signage and hand sanitisers etc. Staff could...not be more helpful and applied all the rules. All being a lager drinker great selection of beers and real ales at competitive prices. I would recommend the Tryst to any of my friends and family.More

Not normally one for leaving reviews. Place was great. Staff friendly. In for food with some friends. Booking was quick and easy. Track and trace quick and easy. Food was good. The older lady with the mask was very warm and welcoming. Unfortunately don't know...her name as my only negative would be none of the staff have name badges. Gentleman who welcome us was also great. Again unfortunately no name badge. Would highly recommend for a nice relaxing meal and drink.More

Visited on the 26th August, was with my family which consisted of myself partner and 2 children, Youngest is 4, Our host i think her name was Claire or Clare apologies if wrong spelling. She was superb, she was polite, humerous, made a real hit...with our youngest, hes such a fussy eater but she really helped and he scoffed all his meal. Very attentive, couldn't ask for more. Place was very busy, but even so she made more than an effort to cater for all our needs. Well done, hat off to you Claire/clare.More
