Just happened to pass this restaurant on the hoof with my wife and baby trying to avoid another carb heavy offering in the city. If you want a decent offering of Japanese cuisine that is also presented well this is a good spot. After a full day of traipsing about the town we were very hungry so pork ramen was... More

I walked in and was seated quite quickly and the place looked pretty cool. Then while I was sitting there a lady came round and put free prawn crackers on all the empty tables around me but mine and another full table, which I thought was weird. Then I was looking around trying to get a one of the two... More

Chose this place for a special evening meal during our trip to Edinburgh. Lovely authentic decor and the service and food were first class. We ordered a mix of suchi, a bento box, dumplings and a Kinchi beef tepenyaki. All the food was well presented and the staff really friendly and attentive. As good as food that we have eaten... Sashimi here aren't the freshest, but fair enough! Thick sliced and acceptable! Had an eel pressed sushi and a bento! Nice dining experience with friends:)

In general it is a nice place to have some Japanese food. The noodle with soup is nice. Sashimi set is also very nice.

Great restaurant, it's not fancy but food is really good. Have tried to have something different every time I go but always go back to salmon sashimi, the chicken gyotza and the Bimlibab main dish. Staff are friendly and the service in general is quick. Good value for money. Will continue to be a regular. Can't rate this place enough.... More

I ate at this restaurant twice in August, 2016. The value for money is excellent. I especially enjoyed the miso soup and ramen.

The staff were very friendly, discreet and helpful. We were given miso soup as we sat down to look through the extensive menu. We ordered the large selection of sushi that was presented to us on a wooden boat! We also ordered some buckwheat noodles with prawns for our daughter who devoured them. All in all excellent value for money... More

Three off us popped into this restaurant for dinner and found the sushi to be of a good quality. And we all received a free Miso Soup. I had the Rainbow Roll and the Sashimi 18-piece Set. I found both to be very tasty. I felt a little cheated when I saw that four of the pieces of sashimi were... More

So disappointed......... We popped in here between fringe shows & checked with the waitress that we were okay for time, which we were. We ordered a Sushi Boat to share which arrived fairly quickly. The sushi wasn't the best & fell apart a bit as we were trying to eat it however, it seemed tasty enough until I looked at... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
