I know it sounds weird that I do not like chocolate or its smell (except white chocolate). Some say: well, white chocolate is not real chocolate. ;) I went to chocolate tree to buy some chocolates for my family as Christmas gifts. I tried hot white chocolate there and it was yummy. A small tip: try the sitting area at... More

We've came to Chocolate Tree four or five times now and it never disappoints. The hot chocolate is outstanding; big mug, always nice and hot and the flavour is so much better than chains like Costa and Starbucks. The white hot chocolate is a stand out! You can also get different flavours of cream on top; I got the coconut... More

On paper this looks like a great little cafe for chocolate lovers. In terms of drinks, you can't fault it - the hot chocolate was lovely. However, there is only enough seating for around 8 customers, meaning we had to stand up. They were extremely short staffed which led to us having to wait around 10 minutes for our drinks... More

We booked a table for four on a sunday evening (although it was a bit crowded, we were given enough time to spend at our table). We ordered churros, venezeuela hot chocolate and cafe gelato (hot chocolate with a scoop of gelato (we took hazelnut) which we tried on our earlier visit and loved it). Our churros was served much... Yes there is lovely chocolate tree choc to buy, yes there are other brands to try, yes there are individual chccs in beautiful boxes to purchase for gifts. But there is also yummy cake (dark choc and hazelnut anyone), served with your choice form a range of organic coffees in delightfully bonkers china. Go. You owe it to yourself.

Wow! This is a hidden gem. They are abut a mile outside of the city centre, but well worth the visit. They have a great range of handmade chocolate in some unusual flavours. Their hot chocolate is made from melted chocolate and is divine. They sell a range of cakes with vegan options and a to die for vegan chocolate... More

I am at a loss for words to describe how good this place is. I purchased three chocolate bars (haggis spice, Turkish coffee and bramble and cardamom) and they were all truly exceptional. The blending of the flavors with the chocolate is precise and well balanced so that both show off their strengths in each bite. Later I went back... More

....and the most delicious rich salted caramel chocolate tart ever! Worth a moment of your time. And if you can't find a seat, perch at the bar.

The Chocolate tree is a great choice for picking up some ice cream in Bruntsfield. If you're looking for something less touristic it's a great spot. The locale is small and personal and there's a wide selection of good chocolates from all over the world. The service was exceptional and we got on really well with the employees.
