Drawn by the name, we ate two very good bagels here. Nice place, good value, elephants all over the place, but none on the menu.

Visited recently with family for a lite bite of lunch. Have never been before but was presently surprised at the non-fussy and relaxed surroundings. Very family friendly with lots to keep the kids entertained. Varied menu to choose from including the choice of bagels and fillings. Our lunch didn't break the bank and was tasty and well prepared. some bagels looked a lot nicer than others, depending on the filling. Lovely space- cute drawings pinned all around. Would be good for studying but also lively enough to meet with friends Good quality for your money. Use of plastic plates for all bagels seems very unsustainable and wasteful

small little place. The food is not expensive, it is good to go there if you want to drink a coffee or a hot chocolate. They also make baggels

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago, had heard it's an Edinburgh institution and had never tried it before as it always looked too busy. Went in on a Saturday lunchtime, ordered on regular wholewheat bagel with cream cheese, maple syrup and walnuts, was a bit too sugary, we also had a very chewy gluten free bagel with hummus... More

Everyone loves a good bagel don't they? Well this place has you covered, the bagels are tasty and the fillings are YUM. My personal fave is the poppyseed with the lemon chicken and melted mozzarella on top. The place has a great feel, the food is yummy and you'll always get a great bagel. The decoration of people's hand drawn... More

I come here often with friends. The coffee is delicious, and the hardest part is choosing a bagel option. There are so many flavor combinations, but my favorite is the bacon, brie and chutney (on any bagel!) Definitely a top spot in Edinburgh, and a budget one at that. Not to mention the fun decor!

Great variety of bagels (brie + cranberry jam was my absolute favourite) They also have nice soups and the atmosphere is usually very nice.

Came here with a friend from back home and I was excited to have a bagel. They offer a variety of bagels and fillings so you actually have a big range to choose from. Unfortunately a lot of the things we wanted weren't in stock so we got a bit disappointed. Still we had a nice brunch. Would recommend if... More

Description
It is not a typical restaurant- it's rather a cosy coffee/bagel shop- very worth writing about!!! Loved by students and anyone who is looking for good food to eat quickly, sit in a quiet place but without restaurant's glam and fuss.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
