First time visit to Edinburgh and this bar was recommended. Craft beers aplenty. Many scotches that our family members enjoyed trying. Very friendly locals we enjoyed chatting with. I enjoy red wine but not a great selection. Instead I chose a cranberry vodka which was...More

Well kept real ales. Friendly knowledgeable staff and great food too. We had the Thai fish cakes. Delicious and reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back next visit to Edinburgh.

We spent a pleasant time in Cloisters. Full of character and enhanced by the lack of TV/Music. I tried several ales -all of which were really good. The excellent manager gave us a sample of a "bitter" red cherry flavoured beer which was interesting -...More

I go to Cloisters often and their selection of beers and ales is always varied and interesting. The staff are great and know their stuff. I recommend a pint and a spot of food there any time.

Should have everything this bar. Great beer and atmospheric when busy. But sadly poor and unhelpful service. I asked around because it seemed surprising and it would appear to be the case. Sad really.

We went in on a rugby weekend, there was a real buzz, but the staff were still super friendly, with a great selection of beers, we order burgers and they were excellent (and just a little bit different) mine was pork with black pudding.... wow.
