Four of us came for dinner during the Fringe (so, extremely busy season). We were seated right away in the back, surprisingly. Service was fantastic throughout - above and beyond the call, actually. My mother had sprained her hand in a fall earlier in the...More

I've eaten here many times and enjoyed tasty simple pub food at reasonable prices. A visit early August revealed prices up by over 50% and on the strength of my experience very poor quality. I ordered chicken Balmoral with creamy mash. The best element was...More

Try the Haggis Shepherd's Pie=good! We had a wonderful meal there. It is owned by the same company that owns The World's End Pub and has better food-same menu. Sticky Toffee Pudding is yummy!

Excellent ambience, with relatively quiet eating areas with interesting outlook. Food, staff and general comfort excellent. Just a nice experience in a totally central position.

O' whisky the water of life! Going to Scotland and not having malt, or Scotch, as we call it in America, is like going to Mexico and not having a good tequila, like going to Portugal and not having port, like going to Disneyland and...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
