Could not go past the Beef and Ale Pie on this iconic Edinburgh Pub and it didn't disappoint. Melt in the mouth meat, delicious tasty sauce and perfect crisp pastry top. Divine

We waited almost 30 min after sitting down in a nearly empty pub before having order taken (after we approached the waitress). The servers were far more concerned in having a chat with each other than serving their customers. The couple beside us waited so...More

Dad is celiac and Scotland is very accommodating with gluten-free options. He had a wonderful fish and chips. I had the Cullen skink which was really tasty. Husband and son enjoyed their meals too. Service was just right.

Wife got the Blue Cheese burger and defined it as the tastiest every. I got the fish and chips (wrapped in paper as it should be) and found it very delicious. Location is quieter part of Royal Mile (at World's End--closer to Holyrood Castle).

Arrived here midday-ish. Initially ignored by all staff and then treated in an extremely offhand manner by one of the (female) bar staff. A query re which gins/lagers served was treated by a tired wave of the hand as if it were a huge inconvenience....More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
