Walking to Scottish Parliment for a tour and popped in. Saturday morning only one spare table, serving breakfast and cakes and scones were displayed on a table. Nice moist light scone and a good coffee. Friendly service and a very quaint old fashioned place. Well worth a stop off

Since we were in Edinburgh I thought it was a must to have tea, as you do in the UK. Clarinda´s Tea Room was amazingly cute! The atmostphere was great, the decor was adorible and the staff were friendly. Every single corner of the place was Instagram worthy! ;)

For years my wife and I have enjoyed visiting tea rooms and sampling home made cakes and scones etc. together with a pot of tea. They all have their own individuality and ambiance but without doubt Clarinda's Tea Room is simply the best. It has it all. Light and airy, beautiful and interesting decor, lovely home made cakes and tray... More

Nice cakes and atmosphere. It was raining outside when we visited which made for a lovely, cosy experience. I would say however that for a tea room, they don't know how to prepare green tea. Green tea should be brewed at 80 degrees to stop it tasting astringent and bitter. While I wouldn't expect non green tea drinkers to know... More

It is a small tea room, few tables and you feel like you are in a typical house with friendly waitresses. Tea and cakes were delicious, breakfast is served as well if you prefer

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
