We ate here as a group gn a while back and had a dining experience that we still talk about several months later. I’ve been meaning to write this for a while so forgive me for the length! Ok, the food: most of it tasted...More

Stopped off here for a bite to eat because my husband told me that when the series Rebus was on the TV, Ken Stott who played Rebus was often seen sitting outside this place having a drink. So we popped in for lunch and although...More

A friendly staff welcomed us in the restaurant. Nice and calm atmosphere, pretty typical inside. Good food and affordable prices. I suggest the fried brie with fruit jam. Unlikely what we didn't like about the restaurant is the way to go to the toilet, which...More

I cant recommens this resturant. The food was terrible. Enchilada serves with way to much sweet chilisaus. IT was drowning. The duck was hard to chew. The baguettes was not tasty. We went from the place hungry!

Stopped in for lunch, had a perfect plate of fish and chips. Crispy crust, really delicate fresh fish. Decor is eclectic, in the basement of an 1820s building, but opens out on to a terrace that would have been lovely in warmer weather. Proprietor was...More

The bistro is so beautiful! You can feel the Scottish atmosphere inside! I had a most pleasant evening in there. My food was beautiful! A seafood pasta bowl, well made and delicious.

Great food and good service. Place is a bit cramped so perhaps not for young kids especially in winter. In summer there is outdoor seating that maybe more suitable. We booked as it is a very popular place. Good menu with ample drink types available

Visited with a Groupon Voucher helpful and friendly staff . The place is a bit of an eclectic mix and could do with a makeover . There is a lovely terrace outside for good weather . We took the prawn and avocado starter and the...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
