Decided to visit as it is the oldest pub in Edinburgh. We were not disappointed. Ordered haggis bon bons, beef carpaccio, haggis nips and tatees and lamp shank. The food was very good and i'd definitely eat there again if i was living in Edinburgh. Restaurant is casual, don't expect an atmosphere but you go there for the food

I visited Edinburgh for a week having a solo trip and the night I had in the Doric was the best!!! The pub is wonderfully designed and cosy! Furthermore, the employees are amazing people since they are very friendly and willing to chat with you and make you feel comfortable ! Tommy and Alasdair , the two bartenders, made me... More

We had a lovely lunch with great wine. Very attractive old building. The staff were attentive and the food was excellent. Would certainly go back.

At last found the time to take up our Sons Christmas gift of an excellent night on type town in Edinburgh with a meal and onto a show. So it all started with an afternoon meal, preschool at The Doric pub Restaurant in Market street in Edinburgh and what a way to start the day. Excellent meals for all, son... More

Excellent traditional Scottish food with a huge range of Scottish beers. We ate here twice on our weekend break we liked it so much. You have to try the tiger prawn linguine best prawns ever. The double espresso beer is amazing definitely worth a try. Haggis bon bons excellent and the Cullen Skink was delicious. If you can fit the... More

Family of 4 went to The Doric for sons 18th Birthday meal. Had starters of haggis balls, ribs and cullen skink which were tasty. My son had the steak with hand cut chips which he enjoyed although the portion size was pretty mean and he doesn't have a particularly large appetite. Husband had the rack of ribs special which went... More

Delicious and wholesome food. Reasonable prices and good service. I had haggis starter and shepherd's pie. Husband had Cullen skink, pork and Scottish cheesecake. Try the espresso beer.

Had a lovely meal here. I had prawns and chirizo in chilli oil - very tasty with delicious crusty bread. My friend had the haggis starter also delicious. We both had steaks for main course, one medium with pepper sauce and one medium/rare with garlic butter - both cooked to perfection, great chunky chips not a scrap left on either... More
