Have visited the Charwood a few times in the last with no issues however the current set up simply doesnt work. There is no one way systen and the side door is used by staff and customers sitting outside therefore the door is practically open...all the time meaning it was extremely cold. I get the need ti go in and out but no care for the customers inside sitting with jackets on evidently cold due to the door being wide open. In my opinion, like all other places, a one way system should be implemented when they have the access doors to do so plus the table set up inside should be altered.. a couple less customer tables where the door is located would be less of a disaster then customers now not returning due to the issue and lack of staff care about the issue. Have loved our visits in the past but will now think again if the set up is not changed and they continue to prioritise their outdoor customers getting drinks.More

We both ordered the Red Thai curry as everything else on the menu was very high fat. It was basically a packet mix curry poured on over cooked chicken. Come on Guys you can do much better than this!

Food was good but jeez shut the door when coming in for the toilet or going out with drinks, chose inside when booking as it was a cold day, table given was near the door and everybody near it was freezing, the family across from...us the husband kept getting up to close the door, I did a few times, never had our jackets off, need to address this problem, service to outside took over everything, as I said food was good but didn't enjoy the experience as I was frozenMore

We have visited Charwood many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately due to the current situation with covid they have had to close their doors for evening meals, however they are offering a reduced evening menu to take away. We decided...to treat ourselves and we weren't disappointed. Easy to order online with a collection time. Staff welcoming and friendly as usual and food was as fresh and tasty as it would have been if we were sitting in the restaurant. I hope when they open fully back up they continue to do a take away service. Would definitely recommend.More

We were very much impressed with the set up here (following government covid restrictions and guidelines), the staff were excellent and the guy who served us was helpful and knowledgeable about food allergies and intolerances which my husband suffers from. The food (pizza) was excellent...as was the dressed salad. Good value for money and no complaints. The place was exceptionally clean and safe.More

Had lunch in the bar. Food was fine but expensive for what it was. Basic bar food, no frills but restaurant prices.

Booked this for a meet up with friends. Easy to find and ample parking. Good selection of food and drinks including haggis pizza which 2 of our party had. Had to wait quite a while for our main courses. Food was average and nothing to...write home about although extra points for haggis pizza. The staff were helpful and welcoming however like any similar places these days we felt like it was quite expensive. Overall it was a pricey place to eat and with the food being ok!!!More

went for a family do, and the service was fine and attentive. But when i asked for a lager, they said Moretti. I said ok, But then another guest asked for Heineken. well, I would have preferred that anyday but it seems you are only...offered the most expensive beer. My pasta dish ( Fettucini )looked good but without any taste, after getting a pityful amount of grated cheese to flavour it I just go on with it. The kids seem happy enough but did not finish their pizzas, which is unusual and a bit iff as they cost 25Pds for two...More

Quick pit stop for a late lunch on a a Sunday. Luckily for us, they had run out of roast dinners, so we opted for the Josper Chicken instead. Wow, the best chicken we had both ever had! Definitely worth stopping off for. Our waitress...was lovely and helpful. The only reason we have given it a 4 not a 5 is that the entrance and lobby were a bit dated and worn, which lowered our expectations somewhat.More

Pasta excellent and fresh, Sunday roast fresh and fine, kids meals scoffed, extra dressing provided without question. Highland fling sundaes worth the visit themselves. If you think Belhaven best is a good beer worth complaining about, this isn't your kind of place. It's classier than...that. The room is a bit open, and my only suggestion would be to split it up a bit with some discrete partitions or booths. Everyone is in eyeline of other guests, so if you seek privacy, the room is a little disappointing. Good value for money, BTW.More

Yes, we have two private suites. The Balfour Suite can seat ~25 people comfortably. The Pentland Suite has its own private entrance and full bar and can seat 90 people comfortably. They can be combined also.
