I was taken off to stay in this hotel for a few days and we chose to have breakfast at the brasserie- a wonderful selection of cereals including a homemade granola which may have been a little on the sweet side but was truly delicious, fresh juices, assorted hot breakfasts were also available. I didn't get to try the kippers... More

Definitely not enough choices or options for vegans. What I ordered was also covered in oil and was just generally not pleasant. My family however enjoyed their meals.

food was excellent with a good choice both in the restaurant and the bar. One problem however was every time the door opened a blast of cold air hit the room. Other than that however no problems

The only good part of this was the sticky toffee pudding which was from the a la carte menu. We bought an itison voucher which gave you 2 courses from the set menu and a glass of wine. The set menu is probably the most unimaginative menu I have seen. I had a starter of mozzarella, tomatoes and basil which... More

It's a nice setting and they have a good choice of food and craft beers/larger we ordered the Mal club and BLT sandwiches and the Mal burger though fries with the burger are extra. The good was served quickly and was very good we... More

Had a light dinner here by myself. It's quiet and the food is good. A decent range of wines is available.

Unfortunately I cannot give this place a high rating. The wait staff was friendly enough, but we had to ask for our table to be cleared three times. Food was average. Ceasar sauce was entirely too fishy. We ordered diet cokes and got lemonades and were charged the higher price for lemonades. But, the outdoor seating on a beautiful sunny... More

A choice from the buffet as a starter. We had the mushroom soup with artisan bread and butter. That hit the spot and we were ready for the main course. Out came something I wasn’t quite expecting, but, I was pleasantly surprised. There was literally a whole chicken on a platter, complete with all the Sunday trimmings neatly arranged with... More

In the lively, bohemian Port of Leith, Malmaison Brasserie reigns supreme as a superlative place to meet and eat. The highly chic Art Nouveau French brasserie has sleek, stylish decor and actual port views. The staff are passionate about food, wine and service, and the dining room is lit with that brasserie buzz. Malmaison Executive Chef, Roy Brett has overall direction. Inspiration is taken from great 'French brasserie-style dishes' and further enhanced with a unique contemporary twist. Dishes include chargrilled ribeye with cafe de paris butter and fine beans and salmon fishcake with parsley sauce and buttered spinach. For those of you with a sweet tooth, be sure to try the tarte tartin with crme Chantilly.
