This was a gem of a place to find on a cold winter's day. We enjoyed very nice homemade soup and two of the bagel options. Staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

This cafe provides simple food.done well - bagels, soup etc. The inside seating is quite cramped but comfortable, but we had to sit outside with the dog. The service was prompt and pleasant.

My wife and I visited Apples for Jam 2 weeks ago. What a lovely place and great food and drink. I had a chive scone with chutney. Absolutely scrumptious! Totally different to any other scone that I've had and a bargain price. Without a doubt,...the best scone of the year, even decade and maybe millenium so far. The staff were friendly and it was spotlessly clean. The rest of the menu was attractive and I really wish I had bought stuff to take away. I can't wait to put that right!More

Great atmosphere, attention to detail, good menus at both Melrose and Earlston cafes. Reasonable prices and tasty food with good coffee. Staff friendly, helpful and professional. A good holiday and local cafe for all day eating. Sorry to miss the dinner event next week!

We visited the cafe in Melrose for breakfast two consecutive days while staying in Melrose, the food and coffee were delicious. The lunch and takeaway menu also looked good. Although the cafe is small we managed to get a table both days. Staff were very...helpful. Can recommend this place.More

This place is a gem in the High Street, the staff are so friendly and helpful, really attentive, nothing is a trouble. As well as tables inside, there are a couple outside also take away available. The decaff coffee tasted as good as normal and...it was one of the best we have ever had. Have to say the porridge with coconut and pistachio was deliciousMore

We love the Earlston cafe. We travel out of our town to go there instead. Delicious breakfast menu or lunch if you prefer. We are there often and enjoy the service, atmosphere and everything we have tried is delicious. Waffles and bacon is a favourite,...and I also love the goats cheese salad bowl for lunch. Considering that the prices of everything are increasing it’s good value for money and a lovely treat.More

I came into the cafe in Earlston on a Sunday morning, amazing staff, but the prices are extortionate, the manager(s) need to take a look at their prices. Very expensive for what it is. Whoever made the food, did a very good job, no complaints...there, but it’s definitely not worth the money. I asked how much the smoked salmon sourdough bread was and I was told it was £8!!! They need to cut their prices in half at least! Definitely not coming again until the prices are dropped…More

Nice place but really disappointing service. There was three young people working behind the counter that didn’t interact with anyone coming in. We waited 10 minutes for the table to be cleared and then had to ask for the table to be wiped. We waited...30 minutes for our food and when we went up to ask where our order was, they forgot they’d taken it. We ended up going elsewhere. Really disappointing!More

Small place in Melrose, not many tables- think service would be sharp. Unfortunately sat waiting for someone to approach us for about 10 mins. Walked out after young staff behind counter were chatting and having a laugh. If they are the owners they’re in trouble,...if not, need to train staff up on service etiquette. This was on a Sunday - plenty other establishments to chose in Melrose. Not impressedMore

No, sorry...we are very small with a recent episode where five dogs were in at the same time and there was an incident, so we made the decision in respect to other customers to stop allowing dogs.
