We ate lunch here several times whilst staying on the estate. Menu was a little limited but our food was always well presented, tasty and reasonably priced: the staff pleasant and attentive. Walked past this beautiful place a few times during lockdown and always wished it was open during a long walk. Today it was and we were not disappointed. Lovely cappuccino and fabulous victoria sponge served on a lovely china plate. Husband had a pecan blondie...? which he loved too. Beautiful surroundings and some amazing things in the antique shop. Will be back for lunch at some point because the soup smelt gorgeous.More

The most enormous scones! Good coffee. Inconsiderate people leaving the door open!!! Could do with signs on the doors. Lots of signs elsewhere but missing where it counts

The food was delicious and the service was lovey. We sat next to the coal fire and the atmosphere was evocative. The menu is limited but the cakes were clearly homemade and looked lovely. I had the chocolate cake slice which was great. The bacon...sandwich and hot soup was the ideal brunch on a cold day before setting off for a walk down to the Tweed.More

This cafe, bookshop and antique shop is off the beaten track. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cafe is quaint and stocks a small selection of cakes. There was good compliance with Covid restrictions. The highlight was the bookshop which stocked a good range...of unusual books and CDs, especially classical music. They were reasonably priced.More

The walk was good until just after the new pond, then for just under half a mile it was completely overgrown and children would definitely not been able to walk through it. Surely if the walks are signposted they could at least be strimmed back...to allow walkers through. It’s a shame as it used to be a lovely walkMore

I visited with my partner and parents, I was quite excited to go after seeing reviews and photos of the food. It’s in a beautiful location, there’s no denying that, the views are amazing and the walks were well sign posted. The antique and bookshop...were a bit dated, dusty and some items overpriced, but I thought that was pretty standard and there were a few items I would have paid what they were asking for if I had been there to shop and I could forgive the prices. The food and service I can’t forgive. We were there on a Sunday, two young girls serving and i don’t think they were able to cope with the six tables they had to serve and should definitely not be left to run the tea shop by themselves! They were very pleasant just not able to organise themselves, we waited over half an hour for three cheese and one ham sandwich, then after a walk we waited 20 minutes for four teas and we were the only table. The food was VERY basic and very overpriced! For nearly £6 I expected a few crisps on the plate, not just supermarket bread with a slice of ham and lettuce. The soup wasn’t ready which was disappointing since they had been open since 11 and by 12:30 you would expect lunch food to be ready. The caramel slice was lovely, just again a bit overpriced. I would go back for the walks and would get tea and cake only because it’s polite to buy something if you’re using the car park, definitely do not recommend.More

We were really looking forward to our visit to the venue and had travelled for an hour and a half specifically to eat there. However whilst the staff were pleasant the service was slow and the food was disappointing. My ham sandwich consisted of two...slices of brown bread that were thin and obviously from a mass produced product and one cherry tomato sliced and plonked on top of the one slice of ham. The side salad did not even have a dressing on. At £5.75 for said sandwich I felt very let down. The millionaire shortbread was fine but not particularly exciting. The walks were pleasant but not enough to encourage us the visit again. I did this this place was good value. VMore

Wowzers, what a place, and time to be alive! Okay maybe a little over the top however don't let my eccentric vocabulary down play the tearooms charm and grace. The service by the young waitress was exquisite, with her being polite, helpful and talkative. Not...to mention how yummy the food was, the toasties being especially tasty.More

Nice spot for a light lunch , soup was v good as were the sandwiches . Nice outside courtyard perfect for a coffee or cold drink. Great parking and lovely river walks in easy distance .
