Thought we'd call in for light lunch. The lady serving food was very abrupt and rude initially. When she couldn't hear my friends order she said "Whah?" Instead of pardon. SHe then told us to move up so she could serve others while we were waiting on our food. Eventually we were told to stit and it would be brought... More

This cafe was pointed out to us by our tour guide and I'm so glad she did as it was first rate. The scones were the nicest we had on our trip and came with cream and jam. Waitress offered to refill our tea (seems to be common in Ireland). Others on the trip had stories or salad and all... More

I recently visited Java after a walking tour of The Walls of Derry, with a large group. We packed the place and it was no problem to the friendly staff who managed us all without panic. We had lovely teas and coffees and a few cakes thrown in. Everything was great...no complaints at all and a great location.

Very friendly wee cafe with free refills. The staff are so nice and welcoming. It's very good value too and they have lovely scones. It can get very busy when the Derry tour groups come in .

On a long weekend visit to Derry , the Java became our base , all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough . We had different soup on a daily basis , the homemade lemon meringue, pear and almond tarts were brilliant. They will happily serve up any dish you want, We cannot recommend highly enough.

Poor tea and on a previous visit I tried the coffee which was insipid. Scone didn't taste freshly baked.

best value for money i have seen in a long time. the pot of tea and enormous scone were very tasty, at a price i can only vaguely remember from the past. while walking to the counter to order, i saw other diner's plates, piled high with large insides for heated rolls, etc. the servings are quite generous. no tablecloths,...
