This was my first visit to the Moody Boar and what a fabulous surprise it was. The food was delicious ( the Guinness bread was so yummy). The lamb cooked to perfection. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting, the staff were brilliant. I hope this was the first of many visits to come.

Anyone who doesn't know Armagh well would struggle to find the Moody Boar as it's tucked away in a converted stables building on the Palace Demesne - 300 acres of beautiful parkland dominated by the Bishop's Palace - home of the COI Archbishops of Ireland from 1770 - 1975. Surprisingly it is only a few hundred metres from the city... More

It had been a while since I'd been for dinner here.. for no reason other than timing... I had always enjoyed it .. this time it excelled my previous visits ...the food was exquisite... as a person who doesn't normally eat meat I had the pea curry with the homemade in house bread ...absolutely gorgeous and had cod risotto as... Lovely setting of this restaurant in what looked liked converted stables. 1st comment would be the sign for the entrance door could have been more prominent. Took 3 different attempts to find correct door and believe me , we were not the only ones. However it was nice and warm in the small bar where we sat before entering the... More

We arrived without booking and the lovely staff sorted us out without any fuss even though it was almost full. The decor and atmosphere of the bar area and the restaurant was quirky but tasteful and very welcoming. I had the fish with split pea curry which was very good. I had my 8 year old with me and despite... More

We visited this restaurant on Saturday 4th February when we arrived we were served with drinks. The local ale on draught was sour and obviously not tasted for some time. Our starters were served I had smoked salmon which was tasteless and had no flavour of what type of wood was used to smoke it. Our main course was slow... More

Visited the moody boar last night with friends. On arrival we were seated for a short time for pre dinner drinks and had some craft beer and gin. Our meal order was taken and we were then shown our table. The Food was excellent as was the setting. We all had clean plates and couldn't fault it at all. The... More

Booked purely because the place I first had in mind wasnt open when I went to book the meal, and extremely glad it wasnt. Personally, I will always book somehwere that is a little unique in its setting, has character and some 'feel' to it. This place has all of them. However, the food was as good as Ive tasted... More

We are really surprised we hadn't heard of the Moody Boar as it is soooo good. We booked for a meal before the Theatre one evening and we are so glad we did. Food and service were excellent - really tasty and lovely presentation. We would definitely recommend it and can't wait to go back when next in Armagh. They... More

Description
At The Moody Boar we are a casual dining restaurant working for sustainability, value, local produce & most of all Flavour. Surrounded by the beautiful Armagh Palace Demesne Public Park & grounds we infuse the Smells, Sights & Flavours from the grounds by growing our own at the restaurant garden & foraging in the Park. This also crosses over into The Moody Boars Interior, out with the new & in with the 'up-cycled', the restaurant is relaxed, quirky & stylish in a moody way.We Love Food to be fresh, home-made & full of flavor so we use traditional techniques to ensure respect for the ingredients that we use and the dishes we produce. You'll notice the difference!!
