Okay grub for the buffet at £5.95 but the shine was completed taken off when charged £1.75 for a pint of orange cordial (Mi Wadi) which is just a joke and an absolute disgrace.

Just don't try to book a table at this restaurant. You will be dumped if a better offer comes along. I booked a table for 4 people 10 days in advance only to be told, having arrived 10 minutes before allocated time, that there was no table available and that I had been told the booking was not guaranteed.

I love this bar. My favourite in Belfast. It's like how bars were in the old days. Has a great atmosphere. Nice beers. And does a great carvery for under £6. Staff are always friendly. And always seems to be busy. I was with the wife and my 2 year old for food. There was no hassle. Even the kiddie... More

I mentioned to people at work about the size of steaks on the menu here and low and behold was booked in for a 48oz rump Supposed to be booked for 3, the guy downstairs brought it forward for me without any problems and then when we went up for it Toni met us with a chirpy smile and looked... Visited on a whim for lunch and wow what a great decision ! Ambience, food & staff were all perfect. The menu was varied and the gin cocktail ....... lets just say 1 isn't enough. Thanks to Toni for introducing us to new Gin tastes and her recommendations were a great help.

Visited again with friends from dublin. All really enjoyed their meal, I had mussels and I've dreamt about them ever since. Had some fresh squid also. Great seafood specials on so just had to try a few. Irish coffees and whiskeys to finish. Went down a treat!

Description
The Morning Star dates back to 1810 as a public house, but the building was here well before that! The entries were, and still are, the heartbeat of old Belfast.

Located in an old romantic entry running between Ann Street + High Street, in the heart of Belfast City Centre. The Morning Star is easily identified by the superb Victorian sign hanging from a grandly exuberant iron bracket jutting out from the corner of the bar, one of the finest examples of its type around.

We source all our beef, chicken, lamb and pork locally and most off our family farm. We serve award winning food in our restaurant and bar Monday to Sunday, with a focus on simplicity and promoting local produce.

Our bars stock the best in spirits and we pride ourselves on our vast whiskey range. We also have local and international craft beers on tap along with the likes of the black stuff (guinness).
