Myself and my boyfriend went here on a Friday at 6.30 just as a little treat. It's quite a small restaurant but that adds to its character, the walls are covered in vintage and retro style Parisian postcards and paintings. Despite the time and the day it wasn't overly busy. Lovely friend staff with efficient service. The food was very... More

This place has not changed from it opened. The plus is that it is cheap and bring your own food ok but worry about how clean is this place. Even the same duty curtain is on the window from it opened. Cheap and a cheap night.

Booked table tonight for 7.00pm, we did not want starters but ordered main courses which arrived at 8.00pm. Very enjoyable, we then ordered desert & Irish coffee @ 8.45pm and felt rushed as staff told us they needed our table for 9.00pm. Not a good dining experience, definitely won't be back !!

Food and ambiance was very French. I had French onion soup which was delicious followed by fillet steak. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. The restaurant was full and there was a pleasant chatter. Service was good and the walls covered with French memorabilia. We were a party of three and... More

Despite being packed out, service was prompt and efficient. For a large booking, I got to see ( and taste) most of the menu and it was all good. A quirky and quaint style added to the atmosphere and I would return without hesitation

After having wanted to visit for years (too many interesting restaurants came to Belfast in the interim), we finally took the plunge. Once inside I thought this could be good. Its rustic in a non trendy way and looks like its been like that for years... However the food was REALLY underwhelming. I'm not an expert in French cuisine but... More

Quaint and quirky little french eatery in the Ormeau rd, very unassuming from the outside but really delicious food. All cooked to a great standard. Would recommend.

A busy Saturday night the place was full of atmosphere. A very pleasant BYOB french restaurant. It's the 2nd time I've been and again it didn't disappoint. We were a table of 5 hungry souls. Starters were prompt, warm and tasty, the mains were the same. I opted for the mouth watering lamb shank and it was beautiful. Falling off... More

Recently went to L'Etoile for a meal with 5 friends, out of the six of us only one was happy with the main course. The swordfish was not at all pleasant, it ended up being taken home and given to the dogs. It appeared to be frozen fish that hadn't been thawed before cooking, not very tasty and texture was...
