I've been here twice and really enjoyed their lunches having been told that they serve the best chowder ever, It lived up to my expectations and was excellent value for the modest pricing. I will return.

I cannot comment on the food but i went there several times for drinks, last time being last Saturday and I really love it. There is a nice atmosphere. Very typical Northern Irish pub, with occasional trad' music sessions. I will definitely come back ;)

Been here many times for a few beers at the start of a night out. Always great atmosphere with mixed crowd, and sometimes a little traditional session happening.

This is what we would call a great Irish pub. Good beers & wine, welcoming fire on a cold, wet day and the staff also made us feel welcome. My husband had the soup of the day which was "spot on" for a cold day...More

Have enjoyed visiting the John Hewitt bar for many years, for both food & drinks. Took my mother-in-law from oz here for a meal last year & she was very impressed. Great food, plus friendly & helpful staff. What more could one ask? :)
