What a great idea this place is....not only was the whole experience excellent but it helps those involved hopefully re-integrate into society once they've served their time. No alcohol is served but that in no way spoilt the evening Highly recommended

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Cardiff opened to the general public in September 2012 and offers over 30 category D prisoners from HMP Prescoed and HMP Cardiff full-time work within the 96 cover restaurant and kitchen. Prisoners train towards gaining nationally recognised City & Guilds NVQ qualifications before returning to their retrospective prisons at the end of the working day. Upon their release, The Clink Charity helps graduates find employment within the Welsh catering and hospitality industry. The restaurant is a flagship example of a unique charitable project that is committed to reducing reoffending rates throughout Wales in partnership with HMPS. The restaurant positively promotes the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners and also champions the wealth of quality, fresh and organic produce available throughout Wales. Seasonal food is prepared and cooked in an open plan kitchen enabling diners the opportunity to watch food preparation.

The restaurant has recently added Sunday dining times, opening its doors every Sunday, 12:00pm to 3:00pm, serving roast lunches with 2 courses for £19.95 and 3 courses for £25.90. The restaurant also serves dinner from Wednesday to Saturday at 6:30pm, 7pm & 7:30pm, offering a 4-course menu for £39.95. Afternoon Tea is available between 12pm and 3pm from Monday to Saturday.

Available for exclusive hire, The Clink Restaurant boasts private dinings room that offers projector and AV facilities making it perfect for meetings, conferences and presentations.
