We popped in recently for tea and cake, it definitely lived up to expectations! A warm welcome, a quaint and pretty interior, accommodations were made for us as we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views of the park! Delicious cake with plenty of interesting options on the menu, the tea was also delightful with a wide range... More

Right in the City next to the Castle this is, I think, an old gate house for Bute Park. Wonderful miss matched bone China tea sets, cake stands for scones ,sandwiches and of course cake! Light lunches and afternoon teas with a wide range of teas to choose from. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Welcome old fashioned feel with up... More

Best book for this small and popular place. Great, old fashioned afternoon tea with scones, sandwiches and cake. Good value for money and friendly and helpful service. Must go again soon!

We only dropped in for a cup of tea and a Welsh cake. We loved the retro and slightly chaotic feel of the place, however the service was good, the tea made from proper leaves and in a pot, and the Welsh cakes the best we'd ever had. The "ordinary" cakes, sold by the slice, looked very tempting, but we... More

We visited Pettigrew tea rooms at the Castle last weekend and just loved it! Home made cakes were just delicious, it was so hard to choose because there was such a choice. We sat upstairs so had a lovely view as well. The staff were so friendly, would definitely visit again if in Cardiff.

I went for a stroll in the lovely park next to the Cardiff Castle and I found this little gem by coincidence. I stopped there for a tea and cakes and it was delicious. The decor is Victorian-Style, also the way to serve the tea is reminiscent of the past: no tea bags, only tea lives and hand cut pieces... More

..I even prefer Pettigrew to Celtic Manor because you get the fat slab of a cake of your choice at the end and when you waddle out the door you can walk it off around the park! I've been there twice, the last time was for a friend's birthday and they put candles on her cake for me :) I'll... More

Birthday treat - Afternoon Cream Tea at Pettigrews. Excellent in all respects. Shown to a table for two, detailed explanation of what was on offer, order taken and on table in a few minutes. What we could not eat was afterwards packed in containers for us to consume at home... Too many varieties of sandwiches to list here, suffice it... More

Super cozy cottage right by the entrance of the stunning Bute Park. Very dollhouse/Alice in Wonderland-like. Great selection of teas. Cakes are impressive and scones are absolutely wonderful. Value for money and friendly staff as well. Highly recommend a visit to this place!
