Food was good. Shame the staff were so rude, barely a please and thank you from the one waitress. We were also refused pudding because the kitchen was "closed" even though other diners were served after we requested to see menus.

Second time we have visited this pub and again had amazing food. Having traveled from Norwich to visit family there was only one place we wanted to eat . Would recommend King Charles II pub whole heartedly.

I tried the pie and mash which overall was ok. It would have been better if the beef wasnt tough. Beer was good. Staff helpful and friendly. Would try it again.

This place has real character, if you believe the history royalty has darkened the door. Good place to eat or just have a drink or two! Renowned for the pies!

Cozy old traditional English pub. Good selection of local beer and ale. Quiet on a Tuesday, but well worth a visit

To answer my own question because we have just been there - yes they do allow dogs. The pies are individual and tastey as was the roast beef and beetroot salad. Original Cromwellian panelling and wonky floors.
