A busy saturday night with plenty of atmosphere. The Vegetarian starter sharing platter is so delicious. Luckily we shared just the one between the 4 of us as the main course meals were so yummy we didn't want to leave any ! Thai Green Curry was very nice and they even kindly took a bit of the heat out of it for me.
Went for Hubby's birthday and they had put small confetti decorations on the table and gave him a special birthday dessert. Staff lovely and friendly.

Simply great to have a restaurant in Windsor which is not for the tourists and serves excellent authentic fresh food with an eye to returning customers and not just transient tourists. We love this place and everything about it. Favourite starters include tandoori prawns and zesty skewered prawns; their sheik kebabs are also excellent. Mains, Rogan Ghosh, Chow Mein both excellent and the lamb mutter is exceptional. The garnish served with the starters is always 100% fresh and very tasty. The service is second to none and the prices represent great value for money. There is a brilliant range of spicy food available especially if you like it hot. Love it.

We've been living in Windsor for years, and yet we never managed to try Gurkha's cuisine. From the moment we entered we've been welcomed by nothing but smiles and warmth. The ambience of the restaurant is very warm and cosy, tables dressed with tablecloths, and dimmed lighting creating a welcoming athomphere. The food choice is more than adequate, and a choice of 4 different cuisines provided a sufficient playground for even more demanding connoisseurs. The flavours were nothing short of flavour and authenticity, and we enjoyed every single dish. Portions are quite large and filling, so no one will ever leave hungry! Service was simply impeccable, and we felt really well looked after. The bar was surprisingly very well-stocked for the restaurant of its size, hence we had a good level of assortment to choose from. One advise, hibiscus doesn't go well with every gin ;) We will definitely be back in no time and bring some friends so they can also enjoy this unique experience.

My first (not last) takeaway meal from this restaurant; the meal was for 8 people at a family gathering. All 8 agreed that the food was of a very high standard; a very varied and interesting menu with choices to please all; some of the dishes I have not previously come across despite having a long held love of food from Indian/Asian restaurants.
My personal preference is always to collect food, I did this despite having to travel from Maidenhead to Dedworth (7 miles) as I have previously enjoyed eating in the restaurant. the service was excellent! After placing the order I was told to remain at home until I was called to say the food would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived I was warmly greeted; the food was ready and the brilliant staff insisted on carrying the food to the car. As it was a large order there were significant extras included that I didn't fully appreciate until all was unwrapped.
I cannot recommend The Gurkha Royale strongly enough! I will be back for more!!

We had dinner here the other night, firstly lets deal with the big issue at the moment COVID, it would be fair to say the restaurant has taken all reasonable steps to deal with this, all staff wearing masks hand sanitiser at the door, tables set at a good distance apart.
This is not your standard British Indian restaurant (BIR) the menu is varied and covers a large section of Asia, although the restaurant had plenty of waiting staff the service was painfully slow it took over 35 min to get the starters out and by the time we had finished the main courses over two hours had passed so we skipped the deserts, we did notice a large amount of food going out on take away orders so perhaps this explains the wait.
The food itself was very good, the prawns and lamb where well prepared and tasty and made for a excellent dining experience.

It was our first visit to this brilliant restaurant which was highly recommended - we were not disappointed! It was superb from arrival to leaving.
The staff were all very professional, warm and welcoming, the menu choice excellent and the food (and presentation) mouthwatering and delicious.
What a gem to find. We will be back :-)

I booked last minute for my husbands birthday and am so glad I did.
This was our first visit having had best intentions to go for a while, and wow it did not disappoint.
Upon arrival we were greeted and led to our table, which was adorned with Happy Birthday confetti and a hand written birthday card! A lovey touch! And complimentary poppadums and dips.
Our starters were great, fresh, hot and full of flavour, they were also very generous in portion. A new favourite in our house is the chicken 65, which my husband has not stopped talking about since he ate it.
Mains were just as good and the team were happy to provide a doggy bag to take home.
After our mains, the chef came over with a birthday dessert and wished a happy birthday.
Honestly I’ve never received such attentive service and would recommend to anyone and am writing this having only just got home.
Amazing restaurant with an amazing team!

This is a lovely family run business with excellent food. Everything is fresh and delicious. Generous portions and beautifully served. The menu is an eclectic mix of Nepalese, Indian & Oriental, I am lucky to live locally and am working my way through the menu. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble, so if you want your dish a little extra spicy or very mild they are only too willing to accommodate. The new outside seating area has its own ‘snack menu’ which I will try on my next visit.
They also mix a mean cocktail

Still tasting the food 2 hours after my incredible meal here.
Food:
Absolutely amazing, everything was so so so nice. Nice touches to finishing dishes so everything looks gorgeous and tasted great. The dumplings are divine, gorgeous freshly cooked naans, can’t remember what it was called but we a potato like starter with so many flavours. Our mains were so tasty and we couldn’t finish so they happily put our leftovers in takeaway containers after we asked.
Staff/other bits: Everyone was so so nice, accommodating and super friendly, harder to be currently with masks but they pulled it off. I loved all the details, the style of plates, how they served sauces, the good quality glasses - everything was thought through.
The setting was wonderful, it was a sunny day but we had comfy cushions given to us for the benches and awesome flame heaters came on just as the sun went down.
Thankyou so much for our food, it was our first time eating out since March last year and it was lovely. Will definitely be back when we have family visit us.
Also, my boyfriend is currently asleep in a happy food coma...

Had a wonderful meal here on Friday evening. The starter of leek and spinach bhaji was delicious. We all had curry and have to say it probably was the best tasting butter chicken I’ve ever eaten. Rice cooked to perfection and naan bread beautifully cooked. Great service and felt very welcomed. When the chef came to our table to enquire how our meal was we all thought that was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend booking ahead.

We visited here with 2 children whilst staying at Legoland it was amazing! Well worth the trip out. Very child friendly with homemade fish fingers and nuggets which came out quickly to keep the kids happy! The curry was amazing and so delicious and freshly prepared. The staff were very friendly and made a point to learn the kids names.
May make the hour and half trip from home just to visit here again and eat the delicious food!

The Gurkha Royale in Royal Borough of Windsor is a superb fine dining local cuisine. The varieties in the menu offer very unique and fresh foods which are delicious. The staff are very professional and provides excellent service by creating a very friendly environment. The restaurant is well designed with extended outside areas which provides a very good ambience for eating out with family and friends. This is my best restaurant in the town and I have visited the restaurant frequently for eating out.

We ate at Gurkha Royale whilst Covid19 restrictions allowed only outside dining (plus take aways). They have set up an excellent relaxed space to the side of the restaurant that looks out on the side street. It has some patio heaters and they even use charcoal barbecues to warm and add to ambience. Service was prompt and courteous and the food didn’t disappoint. Nepalese is their speciality and goat and paneer are protein options on top of usual lamb and chicken. They have recently refitted and upgraded inside areas like toilets and are worth supporting as an excellent local business.

The food here was excellent and I love how they have a good choice of different cusines including Thai, Indian, Nepali and Japanese so would be an excellent place to go with friends and family because there is something for almost everyone. The service was excellent, they couldn’t do enough and the food was delicious - we had a chicken tikka and prawn goan curry both were fab. Can’t wait to come back!

We visited this restaurant today whilst staying at the legoland resort hotel which is about a 7 minute drive away.
Upon arrival we noted the beautiful contemporary decor and we were shown to a well presented table.
Service was very friendly and attentive, our children were given a paper kids menu with a colouring picture on the opposite side and some crayons to colour in with which was a nice touch and kept them busy.
The food was ready quickly and arrived piping hot and beautifully presented.
To begin with we were given popadoms and chutney dips which were all fresh and tasty.
For our main meal we had chicken momos, lamb biryani, chicken chow mein, sautéed spinach, monkfish tikka and a lamb jalfrezi all of which were delicious.
All in all I highly recommend this restaurant!
