We took a near last minute decision to go out for lunch and decided to try the Bell. We have passed it literally hundreds of times but never stopped as we are always a little wary of pubs on main roads. Our worries were unfounded, the pub itself is very clean, very well presented and has a welcoming feel that... More

We are frequent travellers on the A30/A36 and were so disappointed to find our regular pub en route was closed for refurbishment and the next we tried had the kitchen closed. However both incidents turned out to be a stroke of luck as we discovered the Bell Inn displaying it's very welcoming Dog Friendly sign. We had a delicious freshly... More

We have now eaten here on several occasions, the steak burgers are one of the best burgers I have ever eaten, possibly the pink Himalayan salt gives it the edge. Friendly service, good beer and very reasonably priced wine.

Two friends and I stopped for lunch at the Bell by chance. We had no idea what the pub or the food was like. We were so happy we did. We received a friendly welcome and I was delighted to find I could bring my two dogs in. We had an excellently cooked roast pork, with crisp roast potatoes and... More

My son treated us to a pre Christmas evening meal here. The food was delicious. We had the full turkey with trimmings meal, although the main menu was also available. New owners and we will definitely be back.

Popped in for dinner to break up a long journey. The pub itself is pristine and the landlord and landlady can't do enough for you. Prices extremely reasonable, wouldn't have minded paying a lot more as the food was freshly cooked, beautifully presented and full of taste. The children's food was brought out first which is always appreciated and my... More

Dropped in on a Saturday evening as we were staying up the road. My wife was very pleased to discover there were 4 or 5 vegetarian options. The main courses were really big and tasty, I had the fish and chips which was great, then greedily tried a bite of my wife's veg en croute as it was too much... More

Found The Bell by chance on a Sunday road trip from the New Forest to Bristol. It was ten to three the kitchen closed at three but with absolutely no hesitation we were offered the full menu. The rack of lamb was succulent, hot and came with perfectly cooked veg and Yorkshire pud. We were even offered more gravy. I... More
