Went for a meal here this week, been several times before and always enjoyed it. Ordered popadums and starters, unfortunately still waiting for the pop's 10 minutes later- obviously we were forgotten, as a consequence we were still eating pop's when starters came out. Starters were nice, then the lamb balti appeared, not what it used to be, chewy lamb... More

Took the family here for lunch based on a recommendation from a lifelong Salisbury native. We arrived 30 minutes before they closed for lunch, so not sure if we caught them at a bad time, but our food we disappointing. Pompodums for starter were what one would expect, and my chicken dish from the "Chef's Recommendations" part of the menu... More

unfortunately after visiting this restaurant throughout the years never had a bad meal here it was always the go to for a traditional curry, decided to order a takeaway from here for a change but was extremely disappointed at the taste, flavour & really small portion size! I must say we will stick with what we know in future and use Sj2... More

We went to Shah Jahan last evening after a trip to the cinema. We had only been once before (about a year ago) and it was very average so we didn't bother returning. However, some of our acquaintances seem impressed with this place and it is always heaving at weekends, so we thought we would visit again. The restaurant isn't... More

Called in on 9th December. Lived in Salisbury until 4 years ago and it was my favourite restaurant then but what a bad night on the 9th. 1 of the starters had no garnish, my meal was supposed to be hotter than a Madras curry, but it was more like a Korma. Staff were so pushy, trying to rush us... More

No visit to Salisbury is complete without a visit to the Shah Jahan, our go-to Indian restaurant in the city. On our most recent trip we were pleased to see that standards have been maintained and that the prices are still reasonable, even thought the restaurant has had a few face-lifts over the years and is now almost a posh... Place was packed but they still managed to find us a table. Service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry. Thought the prices were a bit adventurous but when the food came this thought melted away. Excellent food and easily one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. The fusion of spices was divine.

Nice decor and good food. Visited weekday Lunch time and surprised I was the only one in there. Had chicken Biryani, peshwari naan and a couple of poppadoms plus cup of coffee. Yes, Coffee--No Alcohol for me Lunch times. Thought it was fairly on the dear side @ £19.40. **Perhaps they would get more in if they offered a selected... More

My husband and I went here for a Saturday night dinner and the restaurant was heaving. Nonetheless we had a lovely welcome and the service thoughout was friendly if a bit slow due to their being so busy. The menu was interesting and offered a number of dishes that I had not come across before, as well as all the... More

I'm not overly enthused by blue and purple lighting in Indian restaurants. There was something of a mis-match here, whereby the wall lights each glowed a different colour and the general furnishing was a bit 'mdf'. That said, the important thing is the food and company. Company aside (that's always good), the food was nice; my lamb shashlick was a... More
