Came here by chance for lunch, welcomed by a very friendly man (the owner?) who promptly took our food and drink orders after giving us ample time to select from the very extensive menu and specials board. They were even very accommodating with my fussy order! Food took a while to come out but I didn't mind as they were... More

During our visit we made this our watering hole for the evenings, the menu and dishes looked good, but we didn't try many, the beers and spirits's prices were reasonable.

As a bald headed, middle aged man I take exception to the previous reviewer's seemingly stereotypical view of us anti-hirsute 40 somethings............ However, I agree with his view that the staff at The Cloisters just aren't what they used to be. I've been coming to this pub since I was a sprightly, long haired 18 year old and have seen... More

While showing my visiting parents the beautiful county of Wiltshire we came across this wonderful little pub in Salisbury which was highly recommended for the food they serve and we decided to nip in for dinner. On arrival we asked to see the menus and we were told that the kitchen was closed although there were other diners eating at... More

I stopped by for a quick lunch. They offer door step sandwiches for just under £6. It came with a small salad excellently dressed. I had ham and cheese. The ham were thickly carved by hand. The cheese was quite tasty but it was grated - makes it difficult to eat. The beer was excellent. Pint and a sandwich was... More

We recently held a 90th birthday party in the pub's function room. Excellent communication from friendly staff when making arrangements and setting up of the room. They were so courteous and considerate of the fact that the party consisted of some elderly members and were very helpful. Couldn't have asked for more. The food was first-class and the set menu... We live in Salisbury and have been coming to The Cloisters for about seven years. It has always been our go to Friday night eating out spot and a regular Sunday lunch choice. The previous landlord was excellent and had four friendly, charming and wonderfully efficient bar staff. Then he retired and the new management came in. Overnight the atmosphere... More

Ordered our food and it took an age to arrive. I had to ask the bar staff what had happened to our food! Eventually it arrived and was quite reasonable. Suspect the kitchen was under staffed surprising given it was the pre-Xmas rush.

First review I've ever posted. That's because it's the worst service I've ever had. It's a lovely old English pub, and when we stopped by for lunch they told us it would be half an hour for food because they were a little backed up. Fair enough. But nearly an hour later I finally see the waiter, who had completely... More
