Me and my partner visited Bengal Brasserie last night for the first time to celebrate our 6 year anniversary; we'd tried places like Tharavadu and Spice Fusion previously, but none really seemed to captivate us - Arriving at Bengal one thing that stood out immediately was the clean, stylish decor - The place looks fantastic and has a very cozy feel to it. Then we got the menus, and were very pleasantly surprised at the value of everything on offer! We ordered a Bengal Special between us to start, a chicken korma, a chicken bhuna, 2 naans, poppadoms, and 4 drinks in total which ran us up to £44.90 aroundabouts, and definitely filled us up. My only complaint in this regard was that the bhunas I'm usually used to are more creamy and spicy rather than oily, but that's just down to personal taste. The real highlight here, though, was with the staff; Shakeel and his team are extremely charismatic, warm and welcoming, and more than happy to accommodate for sudden changes or dietary requirements, and offered a complimentary drink for both me and my partner; one small other downside is the lack of a dessert menu, however Shakeel explained that they used to have a dessert menu, but removed it due to lack of demand. Regardless, he noted my name, and offered to order a dessert from a local dessert shop that one of his friends owns, totally on him, the next time we visited. I've been to dozens upon dozens of curry houses across Leeds, London, Suffolk and Birmingham as I work with a lot of people of Indian descent with my work, and out of all of them, Bengal Brasserie trumps them all. The quality of a Michelin star restaurant with the value of a takeaway. Bengal Brasserie is the ONLY restaurant I've been to that I would consider even giving 6 stars to, if possible.

We visited the Bengal Brasserie on 29/9 for my Dads birthday. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the amazing staff who literally couldnt do enough for us. The restaurant was clean, with screens between the tables due to the pandemic but didn't effect the fantastic atmosphere. We all had starters including Lamb chops (unbeleavable), mixed starter, and chicken tikka. We also asked for poppadoms & pickles and were greated with two platters which resembled skyscrapers!!! The mains were beautiful also and the choices were large and varied. After our meal the staff made a big fuss of my Dad, giving him brandies for his birthday, and a selection of other drinks for the rest of our party. We've been to some amazing restaurants all over the world but genuinely have never came across a friendlier team of staff who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our visit. Sorry we didn't take any pics, we'd all had a few beers and were too hungry to wait!! All I can say is I hope they branch out and open up a restaurant in Sunderland, we'd be there every week!!

Come here regularly, never had a bad experience. The staff are world class and the food matches it, The Sunday buffet is the best value for money you will ever get. But come on any other day of the week and you will get quality food for great prices and service with a smile. The best in Leeds easily.

Given the strange circumstances we're all experiencing, including the restaurant trade, I was expecting some problems with food delivery. We were celebrating a significant birthday and given the circumstances decided to go for a restaurant delivery rather than a local take away. The menu looked great and had some of our preferred dishes. We were told it would take over an hour and as it was the start of a bank holiday weekend on top of the lockdown were ot surprised at the one and a half hour wait. It is the quality of food that was delivered that was apaulling. The pilau rice was inedible as was the butter chicken (sickly sweet and sauce not reduced enough) We were missing dishes and all in all this was not wrth the £35 paid (would have been half that from a local take away) Will not be using this restaurant again.

Never met staff so accommodating, gorgeous food truly authentic (portions are good size too) and prices are brilliant. Wait time for food was perfect between starter and main - we even received complimentary drinks as they got our table ready for us. Puts any other indian I’ve been to (and I cant count how many I’ve visited) to shame. Can’t recommend here enough, we are so happy with our visit, definitely worth having a meal here. If you like good food, amazing atmosphere and staff, you will love it ! Thank you Bengal staff Xxxx

What a fabulous first experience with Bengal Brasserie. We were unsure where to order from for a 50th celebration and decided to go here - What a great decision it turned out to be. I want to begin with the food; For a lengthy order it was prepared and ready to collect within 30 minutes(we decided to collect as it would be quicker). We ordered a variety of starters, a selection of curries and sundries to go with it for 8 people. The food was amazing, the whole family agreed it was the nicest take away we have had in a long time. The food was fresh & fragrant and absolutely delicious. Not to mention piping hot (one of my absolute musts for a take away!) The lamb (in the curries we ordered) was succulent and tender, the chicken was also extremely tasty. Secondly...Customer Service; 10/10 What a lovely & welcoming place to be! Extremely polite and couldn’t do /give us enough. With complimentary drinks and food to go with what we ordered! As well as insisting on carrying our 3x bags of food to the car; the service couldn’t have been better. It isn’t often (if ever) we go for food/ order a takeaway and are made to feel valued for giving custom but here at Bengal we really felt valued and it made my mums 50th extra special. Would definitely recommend for eating out (stunning inside) or for a take-away! Thank you so much- we will definitely be ordering from here again! Charlotte & Family

I've had two really positive experiences here. The first was when I visited with my house for our end of exams celebration. The food and service were both great, and they were lovely enough to give us free drinks at the end to celebrate the end of our exams. We left feeling very happy! The food came quickly and all 7 of us enjoyed our meals. The service was brilliant from start to finish and the large portion sizes meant that we took some home with us in takeaway boxes which they were more than happy to provide. The free drink at the end was a lovely touch and we all really appreciated it! The second experience I had was over the phone, where I spoke to their manager Shakeel. I contacted them regarding a charity netball tournament that I had organised in aid of Cancer Research, and asked if they'd be willing to donate a raffle prize. Shakeel agreed without hesitation and was so lovely on the phone, wishing us luck with our event. They also provided us with a £30 gift voucher for the raffle winner which was incredibly generous. Such warm and welcoming people and I couldn't recommend it more! Fantastic service.

I ate at Bengal Brasserie last night with 5 friends. The food was fantastic and arrived quickly. Two of us were brought dishes we hadn't ordered but we were offered the option to eat these while we waited for the correct dishes which followed shortly afterwards (so not complaining!) Host was great and even offered us some drinks on the house. Will definitely be coming back soon.

We had such a fab time! The food was incredible. We started off with popadoms and pickle tray which was amazing, then had the mixed starter (prawns were the juiciest, chicken and lamb were barbecued to perfection). Got way too many mains and extras but now have dinner for tomorrow sorted, the portions are juicy.

Came in over the weekend on a Saturday night with my family and a few friends, even though the place was absolutely rammed, the guys at the restaurant managed to fit us in without a hassle, the staff are really friendly and are very attentive. The manager shakeel (the man) is very polite and has a great sense of humour The recommendations that he made are some of the best dishes I’ve tried till date. Would definitely recommend this place for a food connoisseur or even a beginner this place will blow your mind. Good work team Bengal and Many thanks shakeel 👌 I hope I’ve spelt your name right

My partner and I came for a meal for our friends birthday, we had a table of five and were seated straight away. Bengal Brasserie is always a trusted favourite we live round the corner but haven’t been in so long. We don’t eat meat but had so much to choose from! We ordered paneer pakoras, onion bahjis and then for our mains we shared veg korma and shabji paneer (without mushrooms because I don’t like them!) and a peshwari naan (obvs) and pilau rice. Took us forever to eat it because there was so much delicious food. My friend Laura and I shared two bottles of the Malbec, £15! How cheap is that! It was lovely we were so impressed we had to order a second bottle pronto! The staff were so attentive but not intrusive and made sure we were looked after, even staying longer than guests would usually be expected to stay! We cannot wait to visit again thank you to everyone working to make our night so special! We can’t wait to come back! X

This place never seems to disappoint. I've been going to the Bengal Brasserie's around Leeds for 4 years and they're all brilliant. Haddon Rd is by far my favourite. The food is delicious and the hospitality is even better. The General Manager, Shakeel, is a huge factor behind their success. His customer service is second to none, he makes time for every single one of his customers and ensures they always have an excellent meal. I can't recommend this place enough to anyone!

I had an unfortunate and terrible experience at Bengal Brasserie. I went for an evening meal with my girlfriend and told the staff on three separate occasions we were ready to order. Following this, we decided to leave at which point the owner came to discuss the situation with us. We acknowledge the restaurant was busy at the time but two of the three instances we asked to order were when we were seated and when we ordered our drinks. It appeared that the staff wanted to accept our order when it suited them and not us as customers. Upon explaining why we wanted to leave they had the audacity to bill us for two drinks which we did not even take a sip of! But this is where things got really incredibly awful: we explained to a gentleman who introduced himself as the owner that we were leaving as we felt we were not getting the service expected and we had not even had either of the drinks, the owner bluntly told us 'you've ordered them and it's on the table'. This is not the level of communication or management skills I would expect from a seemingly successful restaurant. We will not be returning.

I was filming in Leeds and needed to find a good curry house for a colleague and myself! I decided to look out of town and as a regular at Brudenell Social Club, I thought I’d check out the area. A quick look at the reviews of this place spoke for themselves! I rang to place a booking and spoke to Gaffar, who was delightful and managed to squeeze us in at the last minute! It was busy when we got there, a sure sign of a good locals place! Our table was freshly cleaned/sanitized and their COVID-19 precautions were top notch with dividers between all the tables. The staff were just great and the food was incredible!! Packed full of flavour and fresh! The naan breads were still really hot when they came out and the curries and rice were delicious! I found a gem of a place here and I’m sure to return. I highly recommend this place to all curry lovers / foodies! Thank you Gaffar and team!

The food is absolutely delicious with lots of vegetarian options on the menu. The garlic and coriander naan is amazing! The service is wonderful, all the waiters all lovely, especially Shaquille who gave us a complimentary drink at the end of our meal. We will definitely be coming back soon!
