Typing this whilst we're sat here for my Brother-in-law's 60th. Arrived at 6:30pm; waited ages to be served at the bar seemed to prefer serving regulars. We were waiting for some of our group to arrive and ordered at 7:15pm. By 8:15pm still waiting for starters, have finally enjoyed our starters, Salmon & Dill fishcake which was lovely; let's see... Sat outside on a gorgeous day in the sun with friends, it was great. The outdoes area is really comfy, just get there early to grab a seat in the sun. Staff were polite and helpful and the food was delicious. Everyone ordered differently and there were no complaints. My chicken burger was really nice. Once the sun went in... More

We were told that the Stansfield was expensive with small portions, rubbish. We couldn't fault the food and it was great value for money with too much for me to eat and I don't have a small appetite. My wife and sister had to leave room for the desserts, we'll just eat half, they said and then ate the lot... More

Visited here with a party of 12. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. One of the children ordered mussels and roughly 40% were closed and the dish was omitting a very foul fish smell. The waitress apologised and took it off the bill, but came back and told us the chef says there's nothing wrong with them, 2 of... More

Great old pub however the food was not as good as we expected... We started with the pate which was a big disappointment on two counts..the small portion and the high price. The main course was ok however the price was excessive for the quality that was delivered... only worth 3 out of 5 points in my view

I had prawn and crayfish tail on toasted sourdough . It came piled high on a 2” x 2” piece of bread. It would have been better on a 4” x 4” and not piled as high. Overall it as OK, lacked flavor, not sure if it needed seasoning or maybe a touch of lemon juice in. I followed that... More

Perfect place for family to meet and they catered well for the children in the party. Good décor and ambience. Food pretty average, although the childrens meals looked amazing and excellent value.

Nice all round place to be for an enjoyable time. Original surroundings with period detail & no juke box or games machines in sight (or sound)! Dogs in bar area are welcome as long as they are accompanied by their owner😁. Can get very busy so bar space at a premium. Open fire in the winter months.

Description
The Stansfield Arms dates back to 1543 and is a beautiful beamed historical pub. There are lots of different areas with varying ceiling heights, nook and crannies and not a straight line! It is Family run, our crown and glory. We serve good homemade food all day, every day and have real ales as well as a good wine list.Set in the idyllic Apperley Bridge area, near the River Aire and open countryside it is popular with walkers, cyclists, dog owners all year round. Perfect in the summer on our very large south facing patio area and cosy in the winter by our open fires. We have a large car park.We are famous for our award winning early bird, £12.95 For two courses off the main menu and our Sunday lunches that starts from £9.95.
