Three course meal for 2 for under £50...can it get better? Oh, yes. The food was freshly prepared, well seasoned and blooming gorgeous. From the deep fried whitebait to the lemon meringue, it was all thoroughly enjoyable. The Doom was a lovely beer, staff attentive...More

Going to a place out of season can be a blessing but you don't get the true character of the place. This place was it i'm sure. Staff were sitting chatting on their phones and mucking about around the kitchen, it didn't bode well for...More

The good things first; The location, The beer garden is lovely, and huge and great sun trap. They allow dogs so this is something i love. The decor is very old fashioned and the pub looks quite dingy inside. We waited around an hour for...More

Our 3rd visit to Arundel and always eat and spend time in the courtyard of The Red Lion. Food was really good. It's pub food, so big portions and I always have a starter as a main course. Really well priced. The best thing about...More

Good location and garden ok Disappointed in the ‘gourmet burger’ was very average. Mussels though were quite good. Need to source better burgers- these tasted like frozen cheap ones although top price on the menu

Description
I visited this restaurant with my husband and two adult children and daughter in law. We tried to find somewhere in Arundel to have lunch at 2.30 nearly everywhere was closed. This restaurant was open. The seating was not very comfortable and to be honest it did not smell very nice, but we had already ordered our drink so it was difficult to leave! I had asked for sausages and mash (but asked if the mash was made with butter - the bar person enquired and came back and said that it was made yesterday and the person who made it was not in! so he could not say! I had chips instead. So I had sausages and chips with runner beans which were cold. The sausage were not at all hot but we waited quite a while and so I did not complain. My son and daughter in law had steak and it was full of grissle and they brought the most horrible looking large mushrooms swimming in oil which dripped over the table. My daughter had a very indifferent hamburger, We felt the whole experience was bad and a waste of money I would never go there again!!!
