It's a very pleasant place to dine. The staff were friendly and conscientious. The menu is very similar to others in the area however we enjoyed our meals very much.

Went for the dimsum but had some ho fun which was good, roast duck ok but better than most places, chicken with crispy noodles which was uninspiring with chewy chicken, but other items such as cheung fun, sui mai, paper wrapped prawns war tip etc were all very much as expected and well received have had better but this is... Noisy restaurant due to a table of exuberant locals ! Short walk from the Birmingham Hippodrome and opposite the Ibis Hotel. Very good service, extensive menu and friendly staff. Good quality Cantonese food - decor a bit tired but would visit again.

Quaint Chinese full of locals having a good time. Ok so it could do with s facelift but the food is amazing. Don't bother if you want your average sweet and sour... this is a proper cantonese serving real authentic Chinese good. 10/10 cant wait to visit again

The food was far too salty, the chicken was so dry I struggled to chew it, the prawn toast was like a brick, the only saving grace was the yuk sung -... More

Visited Chung Ying after 15years and found the quality of food and it's presentation had changed since it's hey days. Ordered prawn toast starter which tasted like a cheap sliced bread with a miserly layer of prawn meat and a yuk sung which was ok but the lettuce that accompanied it was not crisp and a little limp. The mains... More

Very extensive menu . We had. Frogs legs squid and ostrich . Lovely sauces. It's not cheap but acceptable prices. Our meal with a wine and beer was £65 . You can order a set menu if you wanted to keep in a budget . Service is quick , no frills!
